Has anyone had their RWD Magnum out in the snow yet? I got rid of my 4wd Jeep for this baby (05 SXT). I only drive 8 mile to work but was curious how they do. This has got to be the most fun daily driver I've owned.

ya der hey, I drove er through one minnesota winter already don't cha' know....
seriously though, she did fine. Of course the contis could be better, but this is true in the summer as well for those tires. It has been over 10 years since I drove a strictly RWD vehicle ('79 cutlass) and the difference is night and day with the traction control.

drove mine in the middle of a blizzard last year, it did better than any other car i've driven, including FWD and AWD and I didn't even put snow tires on it, just the stock continentals.

The cars are very good in the snow once you put a good set of snow tires on them.
I got my car in January 05 and ran an entire Ontario winter with snows and had no problems at all. Don't make the mistake of getting larger snow tires as your trackion will suffer. Stick to the 225 size tires and you will have no problems.
mine will never see snow.. That is why I still have my Blazer

Mine's gonna see snow in Michigan 'cause my convertible will have to be the summer car.
Glad to hear the traction control is doing its job... I had considered the AWD for some time before purchasing the RWD.

My SE actuall did a lot better then I expected in the 4" snow we had shortly after buying the car. It had the cheap GoodYears, remember SE's have no traction control or anti lock brakes, and it was better then any RWD I ever drove.
Lead, follow, or get the hell out of the way.

Thanks for the info. gonna try to call in (work) due to weather anyway. Sometimes it's nice to have a good excuse to stay home. Of course I need it to get me home so I'm not stuck at work after a blizzard...LOL.
Mine was terrible. Wasn't bad on flat roads but going up a hill was a nightmare (almost didn't make it home twice with less than 2 inches of snow on the road). Found out later the car was out of toe. This year I have Goodyear tires and the alignment should be right so it should be better.

Once I ditched the Conti's, life was good. We have a full five months of snow covered roads here.
I think the need to run snow tires in Ontario is over rated. In all the years I have driven a car I have never had snow tires. I've drove alot of rear wheel drive cars over the years as well as a few front wheel drives.
Never had or needed snow tires.
