    rear speaker

I have a 05 RT with the Boston sound system and was wondering what speaker would be a good replacement for the rear 6x9. Any suggestions?

I was under the impression that the front's were 6 1/2. Did you just shoehorn in the 6x9s?

If you have a sub in your car i'd go with the 6 1/2" component speakers though over the 6x9's, much better sound quality and with subs you aren't concerned about the bass from your mains, I have the 6 1/2" infinity kappa's front and rear, they sound great.

depends on which factory system you have, the standard has 6 3/4" (I think not 6 1/2") up front, with the Boston Acoustics there's 6x9's up front.

Any quality aftermarket speaker will be an upgrade over your stock speakers. Eclipse and JL both make a great sounding speaker.

Just get the 6x9 Kappa's off ebay. You could always amp them in the future, but they are one of the only ones that are an exact fit. I havent seen many that fit without modification besides Pioneer/Alpine and of course the Infinitys.

make sure they arent too deep! there's not a lot of room there for a deep speaker. i think it needs to be less than a 3" mounting depth

The infinity references I got I had to dremel a small amount of plastic off the speaker adapter to make em fit, otherwise they fit/sound nice

I realize that you will get a lot of suggestions regarding brands. If you want a really good sounding system at a very reasonable cost this is what I did.

Rears & doors are Pioneers 6 x 9 ($87 a pair at Best Buy). The dash speakers are 3.5" BA's. Also got those at BB, but I don't remember the price. I got the wiring adapters for the rear and doors from Crutchfield, so it was plug and play. The dash wires had to be cut.

As stated in a previous post, almost any aftermarket speaker is going to sound better than the stock ones.

And BTW, all of the above fit with no trimming.
