questions on model differences

I currently have a 2005 sxt that was wrecked. Being a body guy, I decided to buy a parts car and put it back together myself. The parts car came in yesterday, a 2006 sxt, and there are some differences between the two that I was hoping someone could set me straight on, and if these options mean this car is in a different package, or just becuase its a newer year, or whatever

the options are.
color matched painted mirrors vs. my flat black mirrors
silver dash bezel vs. my black bezel
chrome trim strip down the sides of doors vs. my simple color match ones
3.5L High Output fender badges vs. NO badges on my 05 (are there options for the 3.5L, or are they all the same)
Tranny in the 06 has D, with an apparrent side to side slapstick style up and down shifting, where-as the 05 has D-3-L and thats it.

I believe that it is a difference in the years.

Most of what you have stated in the 06 year are options. As for the tranny it is the same triptronic type as all the V8's.

autostick = NAG1 five speed transmission.
D-3-L = 42RLE four speed transmission.

after seeing both cars sitting there next to each other, and contemplating now the benefits of fixing one over the other,,,,,of those two trannys, which one would be preferred? Any pro's or con's to them? And about the high output badges, are those just a fancy badge, or will there be a difference in the motor as well?

And thanks for the welcome, I have been reading here for a while, and have had some pretty great dreams come from ideas I have seen presented here. Have lots of upgrade plans for the maggie, just have to get it done now,,lol

Sweet, your parts car has more options than the one you wrecked! Maybe put them together the other way???
