    Question for the magnum masters...

Ok I debadged the rear a couple of months ago, and when I did, on the SXT part the clear coat was kind of flaking off from around where the letters were. and since it had been really nasty weather lately - rain-snow-sleet the car got really dirty..finally went and got a car wash... and noticed on the rear end near the SXT flaking that dirt has gotten underneath the clear coat in some of the flaking, bubbled spots..I wish I had a pic but hopefully you can picture this. How do I clean that out and stop the clearcoat from maybe flaking off even worse?

you want it done right ....get the whole lower half of tailgate repainted. Bring it to a real good shop...run you about $250...and you will never look back...if you want a temp fix to stop from flaking....scrap lightly and wet sand lightly and get some clear from a shop and dab it along peeling edges. this will look like crap on such a nice piece of the car....go ask a good body shop and they will set you right.

Sounds like the gate was repainted once already and they just masked around the badge.

Yep definitely something not right with the paint. Better get it to a good body shop.

I agree, sounds like its been repainted. Could have been frieght damage before it was ever sold in the first place. Seen it MANY times.
