I am getting some crap FROM the local dealers about ordering a Magnum RT and the price I will have to pay. They are trying to push the price to 40k because demand is so high for the RT.
What price have you guys payed for your Magnum RT?

just tell em you'll pay invoice price tops. (not MSRP...INVOICE)
You can get it for 100 bucks less than invoice. Let em know your willing to go to another dealership to do that. There are many that wanna sell cars.
If they wanna make a sell, they'll stop messing with you. Don't let em waiste your time.
40k for a 2006 wouldnt be that bad of a deal.
Quite a rip off for a 2005 though.
I wouldn't go over 35k with lotsa bells n whistles.
Yes, you can easily get the car for invoice. Remember, a high volume dealer makes several hundred dollars off of each car they sell at invoice, since they receive the holdback FROM DCX at the end of the year based on their sales volume.
The dealer I am working with called me yesterday with an '05 AWD Magnum RT equipped as I want (Electronics convenience, convenience II, protection, Sirius, Bluetooth) except that it is black, a color I do not want, and has navigation, something I do not want (yes, the navigation could have been removed, but I did not want to repaiint the car). His price - invoice. He will be ordering an '06 for me as soon as he has the necessary information FROM DCX.
In general, Less Government and Lower Taxes = More Happiness, More Prosperity, and More Freedom.
I would not pay $40k for a 2006 or 2007 or 2008 period.
Where are you at? What dealersship?
Have you tried calling the fleet sales manager ahead of time b/4 going to the dealership?
That has to be the highest asking price so far. They must have seen you coming Dude.
Men, I will ask them for a kiss before the rape they have in mind for you.
vasoline, anyway
Ya, 40k is a little steep... I paid shy of 34 for mine, and it has everything but AWD, Toe Kit, and the Magnum Touring/Magnum Protection stuff... ( Adding Toe kit later.. )... It did have 800 miles on it, but... cummon.. 40k?? I've had mine for just over 2 weeks...
Ah, that takes me back to the good Ol days of the being in the Navy... BOHICA!!
Got faxed quotes FROM three different dealers, one wanted me to take the fully loaded demo with everthing, nav, phone, heated seats/mirrors, Hemi...pick it, it was on the car...for $36,000.00.
Most would sell me a pretty loaded one for 32 to 35 grand...
Went to the dealer that had the car I wanted, Black RT, 6 disc, sun roof, no rack...told them I would write them a CHECK for $30,000.00...period.
Laid the faxs on the saleslady desk with the check.
They car was in make ready and out front in under a hour...
They want to sell these things..
Your getting hosed for 40 grand....
Ed
I have already told them all they are crazy. I am going to go thru Frey car broker FROM my credit union. He has sold fully loaded demos for 29k, 2000 miles.
You wanna hear the worst part. A different dealer had a RT that had 800 miles on it. Had been traded in on a 300C. They were asking $38,000. I then see the same car, exact same car, at a different deal had 1000 miles on it and this different dealer is asking $39,000. This is for a car that qualifies as a USED car because it has already had 1 owner. LOL
I paid $500 under invoice. I ordered the car - 10 weeks to delivery (ETA as I have not received it yet). Shop around. I don't blame the dealers for trying to get as much as they can for cars in high demand, but it's up to the consumer to find a better deal. Don't get mad, just find a better deal.
Tbirdman
Screw that...Please get MAD, really MAD, throw a fit, and make loud noise while fleeing FROM the dealership. Yell that they are trying to rape you (That's what they are trying to do).
Start a loud commotion so that other customers in the dealership at that time will flee also!
Theifing bastards!
Obviously I am fully loaded on coffee as I am staying up late to write a marketing proposal. (Price of zooming around in my Volanted RT, and of watching super bowl)

I am ordering a well-loaded 2006 RT today, 1% under invoice.
Mine finally arrived last week. Waiting 19 weeks for it. I ordered mine with no roof rack, Black, Electronic package, sunroof and Uconnect, taht's it. MSRP on the window stick was $32,650. I got mine $1,000 under inovice, so my total came out to be $29,500. After TT&L, it came to $32,000.
Got my 05 in May of 05 when they were very hard to find. $32,700 less trade-in allowance, cost $26,800, nuts, guts, & feathers.
Cucamonga is right , you should talk to fleet manager. we did it and took loaded RT (sticker 33.090) for 29.9. that was including chrysler 1K rebate. we shopped 3 dealerships and drowe home new car the same day - it was a long day though...
if they don't give you deal you like, just walk out. they do not do you a favor selling a car!!!
few times when i heard an outlandish price i asked "OK, SHOW me what in this car is made out of gold" -something like that usually brings the salesman back to earth.if they ask you a stupid question i.e. " how you wanna pay for it?", give them stupid answer "cow hides 'd be all right?" or something... remember ; these are YOUR money.
good luck

Prices still seem pretty tight here in Baltimore. The best deals are through the high volume dealers but the majority are only giving 'deals' on the demo's.
Some are still doing the ADM thing.
Especially for the Hemi's.
The funny thing is the allotment. Some dealers (medium) have received well below their ORDER levels. Many are still back ordered and now they're switching to the 06 models.
I always try to start around invoice. If you can't get what you feel is a fair price then walk.
You ought to see the pops on the new 'Stangs here. 5k about average right now. God I hate that.
Wish people wouldn't do it.
