    Overhaulin' Magnum

I must say, that sucker looked good!

The 300 Touring front end on there looked nice.

Supercharger? Magic Touch shaved door handles?

    Sweet!

While I thought the Foose job was nice, it's all been done before. I was hoping to see some retro touches - I think the Magnum is begging for that.

300 Front Clip - it's been done before. Two Tone Paint Scheme - it's been done before.

Basically, I was hoping Foose would go in another direction with the Magnum project. I'd love to see a hime do a Magnum with the retro Mopar muscle look. Maybe Plum Crazy Paint with a Flat Black Hemi Shaker Hood - Add some matching flat black "strobe" stripes, 20" Billets modeled after the old Mopar Rallye wheels, Pistol Grip Shifter, the engine powder coated Hemi Orange - you know the stuff.

Before everyone gets all excited - I thought the Foose/Overhaulin' Magnum was totally kick ass - I'd love to have it. Having Foose mod your car would be like winning the lotto - I wish I was that lucky.

I've never seen a "retro" look on any of Fooses cars. He does what he does well but it's never been retro IMO. And just to initiate discussion, how do you make a "retro" magnum when there wasn't an oldschool Mopar wagon to imitate?

If you can solve your problem, then what is the need of worrying? If you cannot solve it, then what is the use of worrying?

Plymouth and Dodge both made "hot rod" wagons plymouth load runner and dodge r/t aspen wagon. Flares ,spoilers ,stripes, 318 4-speed or 360 auto!It was the late 70's orange ,black.Same as roadrunner and aspen r/t.

I wasn't suggesting a "retro" wagon, yet the Magnum with some classic Mopar "muscle car" touches. The old "retro mod" in reverse - Foose usually takes classic cars and gives them a Modern element - the Mag already obviously has the "modern" element, why not infuse some of the retro?

In respect to Foose, IMO he is hands down the BEST at what does. I love the show and I love his idealogy. And while the Overhaulin' Maggy was a sweet ride, it wasn't much different than some of the cars that grace the pages of this forum. He should've went with a Charger front clip - just to be different. I like to see him break new ground - call me an ass if you like, but that Mag did not break any new ground, so to speak. I guess you have to consider the owner's likes too - I know he builds these cars with the owners in mind - she seemed very happy with the outcome and I guess that ultimately that's all that matters! Right?

    1978 Dodge Aspen Wagon

This is cool? Please, I mean no offense but, huh?

The Magnum has a soul. It has a personality, something all too lacking in the automotive transportation appliances everybody else is offering.

Hire a beaver and git rid of that wood!

But this is NOT the wagon mentioned in an earlier posting. Below is a 2dr version. Not a bad looking car but Aspens and Volares totally sucked! Almost as bad as a K car.

I am really surprised that I have never seen a Magnum that someone did a Griswold on.
Ask me about my Lemon Dodge Charger. Last time in the shop was approx 41 days and it is still not fixed!

That has been done to death and lack any true inspiration... just copy what has been done before!!! Not Foose.
