The only thing I don't like about my Magnum...

don't be crazy - love the damn thing to death! Everything is perfect about this car and I'll keep until the wheels fall off - probably longer than that!! lol

No what I'm talking about it how much I worry about it - after I had a break in last month, I'm getting paranoid. I tell myself it's only a car and in the grand scheme of things, it's worthless - absolutely not worth a crap compared to anything like family etc. BUT... "thing" as it is, I love it as much as you can love a dead object. I worry about scratches, break-ins, vandalism, whatever. Sometimes it can be annoying - there is great liberty in a way in driving a POS car you don't care about - a car whose door you'll close with a swift kick and not give a damn. Well, maybe not - but you get the point. Just a regular car that you're not modding and which is expendable.

Besides saving the miles off of the Magnum, I swear I'd love a beater just to not have to worry about some a-hole smashing their door into mine at the supermarket or some idiot feeling like spray painting the car or smashing a few windows just because the car stands out a little bit compared to your average family sedan (or wagon).

My "dream" (let's not take it too far, JarZ!) is to have another Magnum as a DD but then I'd probably worry about that one almost as much.
    Stupid isn't it?

Lol - nothing like a '96 Taurus for a DD. Dent, scratch, broken door - who cares - it's a Ford

I can understand your quandry. Like Bipto, it's why we have two LXs. Trouble is they're both DDs.

I hear you regarding the love for the Mag JarZ. I just purchased a scooter to commute back and forth to work. It's fast enough so I don't get run over and get 80mpg to boot.

    hahha, mine was a 2000!

and before that...a 87 Dodge aries with "Turbo" and "Type R" badging I fashioned one slow evening in the Best Buy Install bay (used to install car electronics for them)

nothing was more satisfying than driving my Aries straight into the snow mound behind the building, and needing my friends pickup to pull it out every day after work. I'd kick the damn thing a new dent daily too, hahaha.

Us old farts must think alike, I also had a 02' Crown Vic LX Sport and a 96' Chevy Impalal SS. Alas I didn't keep them, they got traded in.

On a side note, my son and I restored a 67' Chevy Camaro - bought it for $600 (basket case). Put a lot of work and $$$ into it, was so pretty that I was afraid to drive it. Had 2 alarms on it plus a kill switch, finally sold it for over $6,000. I should have kept it.

You guys talk about driving a FFFfffff......How the hell could I drive a FFfffffff, when I can't even say it! That is a dirty word in my house. hahaha

Mines a daily driver and always in perfect condition. It's hard to always park far away to avoid door dings. keeping a car in mint condition takes work, but the reward is worth it. My Magnum is almost three years old and still gets all the looks and comments. My wife used to think I was crazy for keeping my car so perfect. Now she understands and loves the attention we get when driving the Magnum.

You can always tell the folks who love their cars when you go to the grocery store, mall, etc.... It's that group of LX cars all parked WAY in the back of the parking lot where it's nice and empty! If I can't pick an empty part of the parking lot I try and park next to the nicest car, other than my Mag, that I can find. I figure that guy doesn't want a door ding either :-)
