Unhappy One bad moment... Be aware: horrible scene ahead

I had an accident yesterday on my way to work. Simply said: was driving normally in relatively fluid traffic, sudden brake in front of me with no apparent reason where 5 ways come to 3 just before the Bridge, nowhere to go, no time to brake enough: bang...bang. 3 cars involved, seems that I'm the bad guy who pushed in the a$$ of the 2 others.

Don't worry, no one was hurt, no air bag went out, my deductible is only 250$ and my rental is a Pacifica full loaded (an equivalent rental car is paid by the insurance for 30 days if needed, only a Pacifica was available and it's OK for me). Estimate repair period is 2 weeks.

Here are the pics for you «voyeurs»:

Car in the middle (Mazda Protege 5):

    Car in front (Toyota Corolla):

    back at the dealer lot:

Let's play the game: What is your estimate ? 5000 $ ? Totalled ? I'm waiting for an answer from my insurer this week.

What are your suggestions: time to switch for black headlights ? That's what I think as a consolation add-on, no more eyebrows I think...

Thank you for your support in those bad days...

    I'll play. I guess $6789 US dollars.

If you can solve your problem, then what is the need of worrying? If you cannot solve it, then what is the use of worrying?

    I'll say ~$5000

Time for blacky headlights and an SRT8 front end.

    No way they'll total it.

closer to 10. mine had similar damage and the current running total is over 13k.

good luck on getting it back in 2 weeks. waiting for parts is a pain in the butt for these cars. My accident occurred before Christmas and I still don't have the car back.

sorry to hear about the accident though. Hope all goes well for you.

Ouch! Yup... that one's gonna hurt the insurance! Glad that nobody was hurt though.

I have no idea on repairs, but I'll make a guess... $9500.

Ouch... you have my condolences! At least she'll get fixed up... I doubt they'll total it.

I have no idea what to guess on repairs... I'll guess $7,000? (Edit- US dollars that is! I live right under Lake Ontario but damned if I know what the exchange rate is right now!)

Well. To think back on my accident, I'm gonna have to retract my estimate.

Mine was similar damage. Maybe a bit more and it ended costing ~$15,000. The insurance co., as well as me, was pissed off that they didn't total it.

It wouldn't hurt to mention that you would like a total loss on the car to the adjuster.
