Thread: nav install

    nav install

    i need some help iam going to install my factory nav today, and i need some help. the antenna is mounted on a metel platform can i take it off the platform so i can hide it on the back of the bezel. Second do i disconnect the battery and if so its the positive connection thanks for your help

    Leave it on the plate and stick it to the top of one of your heater ducts right there in the middle with some double-sided 3M tape. Or, mount it the "right way," and take out your gauges to put it in the factory location.

    It's always safest to disconnect your battery when you're unplugging connectors. Disconnect either cable... I think the manual says the negative cable. Make sure you don't close the hatch while the battery is disconnected :-)

    the heating ducts comming in from the center counsol or the back of the bezel

    ok its done not bad at all but the joystick will not move the curser up or to the left i think i might need mr. incredible

    yea it does so i can only move the cursor down and to the left is it a hard fix or is just a matter of removing the joy stick i know mr incredible does it for the forum

    Should work in all eight directions plus rotate. PUshing it in does nothing. If it's busted, the parts aren't exactly cheap and Mr. Incredible has been truly incredible in his willingness to help members out. Shoot him a PM, I'm not sure of the details.

    that bad part is only $10.. its the shipping that will kill ya I havn't taken mine out yet to fix.. but I'm sure I'll probably end up sending mine to Mr. I

    the whole unit has to be shipped or all you have to do is just removing the joy stick and send it

    whole unit since the part that has to be fixed is a piece that is soldered to the board in 8 or 12 spots I recall. and I don't think you wanna send a circuit board alone... (not without some staic free bags and good padding)
