    My first Magnum Complaint

Well we have had MAGNUS since may 15 2006. And this is my first complaint.

Over the last 3 months The trans has been shifting hard when cold.

For the last two months there has been an intermittent clunk from the driver rear when going over some bumps.

Last week the heater blower motor FROZE up and had to be thawd out before it would work again.

Now today during a snow fall and -15 deg temps the drivers rear tire decided to just come off. No holes, no leaks, just the bead let go from the rim and the rubber went flat.

I am now putting it away for the winter and driving my Z24 winter beater.

You need to move south for the winter. Dallas was sunny and mid 70's all day.

I've noticed the cold hard shifts as well. I beleive there was a TSB for it, but it (or something similar)... but it didnt really take care if it.

    Anyone else?

By my count... that was 4 complaints!

Sorry to hear about your problems. If we ever get -15 degrees here, I'm gonna have a lot more to worry about than the car!

Hope everything works out for you.

In the owners manual for my Daytona it has a section explaining that the transmission is programmed to shift "hard" until up to temp. There is also a section on the Limp Home Mode that is useful to know. Perhaps with the onset of colder weather the "hard shift" is for a longer duration, and is only now becoming apparent. If it seems unlikely that this is what is happening then the dealer may be your only option.

As to the tire I have no input to offer, hope your wheel is OK!

    All the best,
    now drive on,

If the weather is that cold it is always better to let your fluids warm up for a few minutes. Identity Crisis I believe is a member of the Canadian Armed Forces and I'd like to say from an American Military Family to him and his family Happy Thanksgiving and Thanks for helping protect the free world.

I have the same hard shifts, the same clunking, and although my tire didnt let go, it seems to get flat spots when sitting.

    This morning it was -21......
    It will be colder soon!

I agree with ya dadshemi... winter beater time!

My SXT also has a hard shift from 2nd to 3rd when its cold outside too... usually does it twice then is fine from then on. Its like you've quickly popped it into neutral and back into gear for a split second (almost like you've disconnected the drive gear).
