Is that a Magnum or are you just happy to see me?

 I've been checking out the responses of people when I drive by with my Magnum/Zoomers. Some look in awe, while others could care less.

What reaction do all of you get when driving by people? Just curious.

Usually people stare at me and point. People looked at me a lot before I got zoomers, now It feels like everyone is looking at me when I drive past an intersection! I love zoomers !! People dont know what to think when they see a 17 year old drive by in a magnum. The worst is at school everyone looks at me leave for lunch, I use to like it now its kind of annoying :P

I got 3 people commenting on my car yesterday. One was in the passenger seat with her husband I am assuming, she was motioning to her husband about my car and wanted me to roll down my window. I rolled it down and she said she liked my car and asked if I had any Grey Poupon!!! I laughed and thanked her. Then I pulled into a store and went inside to hear two ladies talking about how that would be the only wagon they would own. Its kinda nice having so many people commenting about your car, but sometimes you would just like to slip in and out somewhere without being noticed. By the way Jiv, welcome to the forums. You should go to the newbie section and check in.

I only got my second "nice car" comment yesterday, and it has been 3500 miles. I guess silver is not the most awe inspiring color.

But in my kit car, I get lots of attention. Most f the time I love it, because I am an attention whore.

I think those of us who get that kind of attention know what it is like to be a hot girl, people are nice to you despite that they don't know you, just because they think you (or your car) is hot and they want your approval. Sometimes it makes me sad .

I seem to be going thru a "second wave" of admiration lately. It could be because I just waxed her...people are pointing, nudging whoever is in the car with them, and slowing down so that I have to pass them. I even saw a kid stick his face against the window as the car he was riding in passed me.

A couple of days ago I was entering a highway that has a long entrance ramp; I could have sped up and merged in front of a car, or taken it easy and merged behind them...I chose option 2 when I saw the two people inside looking at the car, even kind of looking over their shoulder as I ended up behind them. They saw it as I passed them a few seconds later doing 80.

I was a few steps from the car in a Lowe's parking lot, when an older couple were walking to their car. I heard the lady say "That is a beautiful car!"

My husband had the car (breifly!) last week. He said some lady in a minivan kept speeding up and slowing down beside him. He figured she was trying to look at the car...

Its hard sitting there trying to pretend you don't notice the looks and stares. It's hard to not grin back at them!! But it is nice to see the admiration this car gets!

How fast are you going, Mom? I don't want you to get another speeding ticket.

Took me a while to get used the gawks and stares, but then I decided to just smile and wave. I've seen one person step off a curb and another almost walk into a telephone pole while staring at my ride as I drove by!

That and the tourist here just love it (Japanese) have asked a few times if they can take a pic of it.

Lastnight I was gonna take the wife to Red Lobster for our 3 year aniv... I pulled along the curb to see about the waiting list (3 hours) and some people just kept looking at it. His reply to his g/f or who ever she was funny. Damn that is a white dude driving it...

Our shop is right next to a car wash and my Magnum is ALWAYS parked out front. Every couple of days someone walks over, checks out the car and comes in and talks to me about the car. I feel like a salesman because the next thing I know I am out showing the car off. Gota love it.

Seeing / Hearing is believing. My youngest (13) was bragging to his friends that his dad had just put on a performance exhaust to his Magnum RT and his friends, like most kids, gave him the " Yeah...Right.." attitude. So he's waiting for me to pick him up from track practice the next day and here I come, going through the gears on the 1/4 mile road that leads to the school entrance. As I roll up to the sidewalk his friends are standing there with their mouths open as my son strolls up and puts his gear in the back. He asks me to rev it up a bit. I had to oblige ! He then tells me the story. The next day there are more kids and the track coach waiting out front...The things we do for our kids. BTW...my wife could care less ! The sound is just an annoyance to her. That's why she has her own car and we usually travel seperately.
