So last Friday on my lunch break I pull up next to a 1952 or so Studebaker at the stop light with an older couple in it. I can see the big rear tires and hear the cam and stuff in this thing, it's vibrating my car and I'm thinking "Oh crap, that thing's gotta be quick".
Anyway, I didn't want to look like a jackass and floor it from the light just to have him take off real slow, so when the light turns green, he nails it so by the time I reacted he'd already pulled ahead of me and I couldn't catch up so I just let off.
I'm thinking he's probably telling his wife "See, those Hemis aren't ****". Well at the next light I pull up on their passenger side and ask the lady passenger what it had in it. She says "A 454", so I say that's a nice car. So anyway this time I'm ready for him and when the light turned green I floored it and shot out of the whole quicker than he did and he never got past my front door. I think I would have pulled on him more if we had gone longer, but there were cars a ways in front of us so I just let off.
It wasn't this car, but it was similar.
Not bad for a bone stock Magnum R/T against an extremely built 454 in a lighter Studebaker.
Magnum R/T for the kill!
