    Magnum Protection Package?

Any thoughts on the Magnum Protection Package accessory? This isn't the build option with the self-sealing tires. It includes:

    - The front bra.

    - Fender splash guards.

    - Winter floor mats.

    - Door entry guards (for the sills).

for $599. Seems a bit high for the parts, but I assume it includes installation (well, the bra and mats aren't hard!).

Better after-market? I was going to get the bra anyway. Think the illuminated door sills are too much?

I wonder what the door entry guards are? Do they protect the painted part of the sills? That's what I need.

Prolly the ones that say "MAGNUM" and are illuminated. Those things are hella expensive IMO. I wanted some 'til I saw the price.

The expensive illuminated ones don't protect the painted part of the sills.

never put a bra on a car, they look like a pain in the butt to take off so you can wash the car, and ive heard if you never take it off, the dirt gets under it and it acts like sandpaper on the finish.

Bras are not ment to be left on. I use one when on long trips, it really helps the road crap that flys up from trucks. My headlights are not protected and I can see the pit marks from the debris hitting them, no pit marks on the front of Manfred (cars name) though, and also if you get the factory bra it fits real well and does not rub or damage the paint in any way. I am very happy with the bra, I dont like the look, but its only for long trips and I do like the way my Magnum looks with the bra off and no pitting in the front fascia.

The bra, on the Magnum (just making sure before I get this posting locked), is very easy to remove. It literally was three buttons on each side and maybe 3-4 hooks. I use it for the same reason that Dupie24 does as well as for the Florida bug season. The only real pain has been cleaning the bra itself, that is fairly difficult to do because of the odd shape.

The splash guards are nice, but depending on the color I would buy them from Avon since they are paint matched.

The winter mats to me were a must. I have embroidered carpet ones for the try season here in Florida, but the rest of the year I used those mats. The design is great and almost looks custom. They are difficult to keep clean and do discolor a bit if you don't use some plastic/rubber cleaner every now and then.

I agree 100%. My friend bought a Infinity G35 Coupe at the same time I bought the Magnum (we both are on the road 25K/year +) and he couldn't believe how good my front end looks. Only 1 good chip, guess what... the one day I did a 3 hour trip with no bra.

You MUST remove it and clean it after each use or you can damage your car.

As far as the door sill protectors. They're much more fragile and scratchable than the plastic door sills. But they are cool. Especially @ night.

I'd check with the dealer first. The Bra, can be handy. The mats, helps keep the carpet clean. The splash guards, don't have them put them on yet, send them to Avon for color match painting first. Entry guards, find out what they protect first (painted or plastic sill) and I doubt they are illuminated. You can also check around on after market prices since the install is fairly easy to do yourself.
