    Low Magnum Sales

    Chrysler 300: 13,685 units
    Dodge Charger: 11,862 units
    Dodge Magnum: 4,694 units

All I see on TV this year are ads for the 300 and Charger. Last year there were some Magnum ads. Wonder how much that has to do with these numbers.Perhaps one of you guys from the company would be so kind as to enlighten me.

Personally I am loving having the lowest selling car of the platform. It makes it easy to be unique!

In some ways I feel the same but would hate to see it go away like some of the others especially the Pacer and the Gremlin

Don't forget your hundred thousand other friends!

Vehicle lifetime sales of the Dodge Magnum surpassed 100,000 units. With 4,694 units sold in February, total Dodge Magnum sales reached 100,163 units since its introduction in May 2004.

How dare you relate the Magnum to those 2 cars!!!

Neither of those cars should have existed in the first place.

I think the Magnum has a special appeal to certain people, and I like that. I too hope that it at least continues to sell sufficiently to keep it in production for many years to come.

Actually the Gremlin was made around the worst time of my life and I hate it. My brother drove one and said I was a dork and never once gave me a ride to school. He drove by me everyday even when it was 20 below(was able to sleep 30 minutes more because he had a car). So everytime I see a Gremlin or hear of one I get sick to my stomach.

You have to keep this in mind. We all elected to buy a station wagon. I've owned a lot of very nice and very expensive cars, but I've enjoyed this one more than all the rest. But, once again, it's a station wagon. I don't know what the numbers were on the Nomad compared to the rest of the Chevy line, but I bet the sales were less than the other models.

Dare I say Magnum owners have a lot in common with Apple PC owners????

I don't think we have to fear that happening unless sales drop a lot further. Even if last month was a glitch and they only average selling 4,000 a month for the year, that still amounts to nearly 50,000 cars. That's a big enough number that DCX will continue to make them, no doubt about it.

isn't the number they're selling the number they're shooting for? with the charger and 300 out there, i wouldn't think dodge is pushing to sell that many magnums. I'm sure the Magnums are getting the job done that dodge had planned

In case anyone from Dodge is reading , I would not be considering a Dodge if it weren't for the Magnum. I've been waiting literally years for someone to build a large performance wagon (or sports tourer, if you like!).

I'm down to the nitty-gritty stuff now, and hope to be ordering within the next month! May there be many more years of Magnum production!

    Production on the Nomad:

    1955 : 8,386
    1956 : 7,886
    1957 : 6,103 (last year)

    For comparison in 1957:

Bel Air 4 door post: 254,331
    Bel Air Sport Coupe: 166,426
    Bel Air Sport Sedan: 137,672
    Bel Air convertible: 47,562
Bel Air Townsman (4 door wagon): 27,375
    Corvette: 6339

    2005:
    Corvette: 37,372 (model year)
    Magnum: 52,487 (sales, calendar year)

    So:

in 1957 there were more Corvettes than Nomads (barely).
in 1957 the 4 door wagon was 4-to-1 lead on the Corvette
(1957 Total Chevy wagons to Corvette ratio: 5.28-to-1. There were many other wagons in 1957 under other nameplates but the Sport-Utility market was nil. )

    Today:
in 2005 the Magnum has 1.4-to-1 lead on the Corvette in production volume.
