just as the topic says, I'm looking at an SXT in the morning, what are some of the problem areas and what should I be cautious of?

No real big problem areas. If it has the 5 speed tranny make sure the tranny seal fix has been done. The 3.5l wont put you back in your seat but I find it just fine for me.

I agree. I traded an '02 Grand Prix GT in on an '05 SXT, and I'm very happy with it. My g/f just loves this car to death! No real problems that I've heard of or witnessed.

It's a great car.... BUT..... if you can, get an R/T!!! My only regret with my car is not getting the Hemi!! So I bought a 300c too!

well it's the wife's car, I of course would need the hemi, but she likes the way it looks and is sick of paying the high gas prices, which is why we are trading the Armada. I drove it and the R/T and yes the R/T is nice the 3.5 did not have the torque but really did not feel sluggish. I have the GTP for my torque needs. really good to know the there isn't many problems. thanks guys I'm hoping it goes well, the car looks awesome and she's gonna love it. I'll keep you posted

Buy a new 2006 SXT and get 0% financing from the dealer.

From what I gather there is not a huge difference in MPG from the SXT to the R/T.

I know my R/T is acceptable, if I keep my foot out of it (I Don't!).

That is what sold me on mine. They had my R/T and an identical SXT on the showroom floor (minus the HEMI and different wheels, but equipped exactly the same otherwise) and mine was $1000 more. Simple choice given the 1 MPG difference and an extra 100HP....
