    Long Tube Mopar Headers

Anyone running the long tube Mopar headers? I want to see some pics of them in, or hear how people like them. $1,200 retail isn't chump change - and does it come with new cats - cause the stock cats come up to the stock "shortie" style headers.

    Anyone?

I do not have them yet, but am considering them as well. I think you can get these for a little over $1,000 on MoparSuperCenter. There is a pic and they look nice.

    Jay,
MSC is working on a Group Buy right now and should have more info by Wed. I am looking for them as well...I'd like the Kooks, but they are a little too pricey for me. I still have a few questions to ask before getting them myself. Are they equal length? Are there O2 spacers included, so no codes are thrown? There was somone who had them installed. Hold on a bit and someone should answer your questions soon.
    Take care,
    Christopher

I read a thread from a member who had the MOPAR headers, and said he had no Check engine lights - infact he had another brand (I forget) and every 1k miles or so he had a check engine lights so he changed them. I am in for a group buy, my local dodge dealer will give me a good deal, but if I can help out a supporting vendor or help a group buy, I am ready to purchse. The Mopar Headers look to include everything for the 02's.

I'd do a search - there were a couple of people at least who said that the Breslin bolts were worthless.

I wish I had waited for the Mopars. Getting CEL's with the Dynatec long tubes. Seems like Mopar does their homework before dumping new stuff on us and gets the bugs out.

I also have the Dynatechs - constant CELs since day 1. I talked with Ted at MPSC this morning about the GB he has underway. He said that his Mopar contact stated that they have only had one customer complain of a CEL so far, and that was tracked to a faulty CAT. He also said that Mopar was evaluating the Dynatechs at one time as the possible product to put the Mopar stamp on - they were not accepted, not necessarily for CELs, but because they didn't provide enough of a performance benefit! That makes me pretty confident that this is a good move for me - Mopar accepted performance benefit and lower chances of CELs to boot. I'm disappointed that Dynatech didn't deliver for the LX, I've come to respect them and expect alot from them because of their long history of kicking @$$.

The MPSC group buy thread for these is here: http://www.lxforums.com/board/showthread.php?t=27992 They need 15 participants according to the current estimates (the final decision rests on someone who is out until Wednesday...) The Charger forum is also included in this GP, so they should make it.

I also haven't heard anything bad about the Breslins - if someone finds that discussion, please post a link to it here. If I find it, I'll do the same... I have a set of Breslins that are ready to put on with the Mopar headers - I'd like to feel confident that it's a good move before I do, or at least know why I'm not putting them on!

Can't comment on the long tubes.

However, I *think* the negative comments were based on the Gibson shorties; the heads of the Breslins are too small for the bolt hole openings in the headers. And using a washer is ill-advised. In any event, none of us have had any issue with the supplied bolts backing out anyway, so the Breslins weren't needed.

    Hope that helps.

Ah, I think you're right CV. Now that you mention that, I do think I remember people talking about that being a problem on the shorties. OK, so as long as they bridge the bolt holes properly, they're a go!
