    Let the game begin...

Okay, okay....I've been lurking around this forum for a few months now, and now that I've gotten a decent bonus from work, the time has come. It's not a matter of IF...but WHEN.

So, I'm about to jump into the game of purchasing a new or used Magnum. Are there any issues or concerns that I should be aware of? (i.e. production dates to avoid, options to get aftermarket, etc.) Purchase date will be before the new year. This will be my daily driver, and I LOVE to drive.....

I'm really loving a black RT, but the constant washing/waxing every other day, will get tideous. SO, I'm thinking INFERNO! RT vs. SXT?? SO undecided.... Any thoughts from you SXT owners that might/might not regret getting the SXT versus the RT? (and vice-versa)

I know I need to check the various web-sites that have better pricing, like carsdirect, etc. before I go anywhere (dealer)

Let me know your thoughts, and any input is greatly appreciated!! Thanks all!

Well if you find a 05 model that you like it will have the 7 year warranty. The 06 only has a 3 year warranty but you can extend it if your that way inclined.

The decision between an R/T and a SXT is in your soul. If you are a guy that need head snapping HP then the R/T is proberly your car. If however you just like better than average performance but still decent gas mileage then the SXT will work for you. Its not something somebody can call for you. I'm happy with my SXT but some guys on here would turn their nose up to a 6 cylinder engine.

I have inferno red and its not as hard to keep clean as a black car but it looks dirty alot more often than a silver or other light colour.

The 06 models have all the latest firmware in the computer but the 05's can be flashed as needed at the dealer.

Oh and welcome to the forum. I'm sure somebody else will be along to add to this.

Although black is a bitch to keep clean, nothing looks badder than a shiney black R/T Magnum.

Except of course, a Mineral Grey Metallic Magnum... heh

If you can solve your problem, then what is the need of worrying? If you cannot solve it, then what is the use of worrying?

I own both, the SXT & the RT. Bought the SXT first, its a good car, gets decent mph, comfortable... However, I then bought a RT....no comparison...
    My advice get a RT..

Go for the R/T! Just got mine 2 weeks ago and I love it. It's a 2005, black, 20 inch cabos, lowered, with nav. Bought it with 15000 miles on it for $24000 with no regrets. No pulling to the right or tranny leaks yet. Try autotrader for some great used deals. good luck

I have recieved many "interested pm's" and would like them all to know I am in south Florida. For those that are in the ft. lauderdale/vero beach pipeline, anyone have a suggested dealer to go see?

Obviously the dealer is NOT my only option...Thinking more like a used 2005 RT is more in my future. The 7/70,000 is definitely a plus.

Badd_Ass- Where are you? Where did you sell your old one? and why? What was going on?

Oh...And black looks incredible! especially with tinted lights, debagged, shaved rear wiper/handle and tinted windows....Oh, and you CANT forget about new "shoes".......but NO "bling". ugh.
