Thumbs up It's been a BIG year for my Magnum

I wanted to share what I've been up to with this thing this year. I've owned this car since new. It has 98,000 km on it now (60,000 mi) and I have thoroughly enjoyed it every day. I turned 40 this summer and you could say I've been scratching the mid-life-crisis itch - HAHAHA! Here's how things have gone since spring.

At the start of the year...

Went shopping for 20" rims and tires this spring, plus eyelids and a T-Rex billet grille set...

There's a lot of brake rotor and caliper showing now, so time to upgrade (the stock rotors were warped anyway). From this...

    ...to this...

And then I figured I'd treat myself to some more horsepower. Saw a lot of guys on here installing cams and thought 'Heck, I could probably do that.' Was quite the ordeal (my own fault), but got 'er done. While I was at it I installed the Mopar headers and high flow cats, too...

I had it CMR tuned on a Mustang dyno and it's up 58 rear wheel horsepower from stock - very good! Took it to the drag strip and ran 0.8 seconds quicker than just the month before - awesome! And here it is today...

All that's left to do is remove the corner chrome trim I added a couple of years ago. I liked it at the time but with these big chrome rims (which I LOVE) it's just too much. Of course I'd like to remove the mouldings but I'm afraid of the dreaded '05 bubbling underneath + I want them for the parking lot protection. Maybe I'll find some without the chrome strip in them. I would also prefer to lower it about 2", but living out in the boonies I need the ground clearance for when the deep snow flies. Otherwise, I'm basically done!

I never would've done any more than rims and tires if it wasn't for these forums, so to all of those who have come before me in these mods I say 'Thank you!', and my bank account says 'Damn you to HELL!' HAHAHAHA!!!

    Thanks for looking.

...And yeah, I beat that yellow 'vette by a tenth - LOL!

Thanks people for the kudos. It does feel good knowing I did this on my own (with help from forum members when I needed it), and several beers were cracked throughout the process (but no more than two in a row...it was just a lonnnnnnng process - LOL!).

And jirons, are you offering that tint job now that you're done practicing on yours? HAHA! Yours look good in the blue, that's for sure.

Great looking car, and kudos for doing it yourself.

IMHO that trim goes better now than it did before. I'd leave it.

Thanks, MagnumSXT. I liked it when I had the rims from the 300C - thought it dressed it up a little for luxury, but now....well, I'm going to peel it off. Yours would probably look sharp with it as a compliment to your chrome capped stockers - ? I've got the extra stuff I didn't need sitting in the garage - I'll send it your way if you like!

Good job on the ride. It always means so much more when you do it yourself and someone gives you kudos. Like, "man thats hot!" And you're like, "thanks, I did it myslef." And they're all like, "really?, woah..."

    I know the feeling man.

I agree with you, think it would look so much cleaner without the chrome strip in the molding. Hope you find some without.
