    High Praise for American Racing

Had a rotten experience with American Racing that turned out so good, I had to post it up here and give them props.

Bought a set of chrome RTS-611s last Spring, and noticed by the end of the summer when I pulled them off that they'd started pitting where the spokes meet the ring. Its tight there and real hard to clean, but I cleaned them regularly with waxes, polishes and wheel cleaners. They've never seen a winter. I put the rims back on this Spring, and was just sick over how they were going downhill fast in appearance. I was at a car show this summer where AR had a tent, and I told the reps there what was happening. They said the chrome was warrantied for 2 years - just go back to the retailer with them.

So I pulled them off a couple of weeks ago, and took one back to the retailer yesterday. The counter guy looked at the rim and agreed that it was pitting and flaking, but said he'd never had warranty claim with AR, so he didn't know how they'd handle it. He called them up, explained what he saw, and AR is giving me 4 new rims. No hassle, no questions asked, sight unseen. One hundred percent of what I paid, credited toward new rims. I couldn't believe it - never had a company stand behind their product like that. I know who I'll be be buying my rims from.

The only problem is, they've discontinued RTS rims, so I have to pick a new style. I'm leaning toward their "Killer" rims, probably the 3 piece. Maybe the "Casino". Anybody running these rims? Post up some pics if you are.

Couldn't tell you about the rims but nice to hear that a company still stands fully behind it's product.

Glad to hear they treat their customers like that.

Bodes well for me and my AR wheels, for which I have had no problems with at all yet.
