    Red face hey you guys with ramair hoods

    I notice that when I am driving and when I hit some bumpy roads that the hood and scoop bounce around.

    does anyone elses?

    Very slightly -- but then I may not have hit a bumpy road like you're describing -- has not been a concern for me.

    I'll raise the hood bumps, but it bounces toward the rear by the windshield at the scoop

    mine also bumps. Plus at speed it looks like it wants to take off. It was professionally installed. Thinking of installing pins.

    ...And it is not uncommon for aftermarket fiberglass hoods to do this.

    It's NEVER a great idea to do a composite hood without hood pins... fiberglass and (to a lesser extent) carbon fiber can tear ever so slightly, little by little over time, so you don't see it coming, but when it finally tears enough it legs go. I know they put threaded metal inserts in for the latch and hinges so no doubt that'll help, but I sure still wouldn't trust it in the long run. 'tis the nature of the beast.

    I've had my composite Magnum Force Hood up to 110mph now and haven't noticed even a quiver from her. Still, this info is good to know and the fact that I kept my stock hood is even a better thing to know.
