    Guages shut down

I was driving to work today in my 06 RT AWD with the cruise control on. Clippin along at about 65. I started to come up on some traffic and was kinda pinched in so i pushed forward on the cruise control knob to cancel my speed and next thing I know all my speedo, temp, tach and fuel guage all went to zero. I thought the car shut off, but no, I hit the gas and it was still goin. Then all the guages come back on. Then went back off. It did about six times. Finally they stayed on and then the ESP/BAS light stayed on. I got to work and restarted the car and the ESP/BAS light is off. Like nothing ever happened. Any idea what this is? Sorry this is so long.

    Well,

My '07 Magnum SXT did something very similar about a month or so ago. The gauges woud either die or freeze in position (i.e. I'm showing 40mph at a dead stop). I took it to the dealer and they told me that the gauge cluser was bad, and replaced under warranty.

Hmm well I hope the gauge cluster isn't bad. Everything is still under warranty so i'm not worried. Still kinda scary. I gotta take it in for the AWD shudder so I might as well add one more thing to the list.

But if its the battery cable and or batter wires, the whole car would have had the intermittant problem, right? Everything else still functioned (radio was on and the car was still accelerating). I'll give the battery and cables a check. No need to go to the dealer to check on that stuff. I still think there might be something else though.

Ok, I went out and did the key trick to display the diagnostic codes. The only code that came up was U110A. Anyone know what the code is? I did a quick search and couldn't find anything.

Found this on the forum from FNKY:

    U110A-LOST COMMUNICATION WITH SCM - CAN-C
    • When Monitored: With the ignition on, battery voltage between 9 and 16 volts, and engine run time greater than 3 seconds.
    • Set Condition: The PCM doesn't receive a bus message from the Steering Control Module (SCM) for a specific amount of time.
    Possible Causes
CAN C BUS OPEN OR SHORTED CONDITION
NO POWER TO STEERING CONTROL MODULE (SCM) — MODULE UNPLUGGED OR OPEN FUSE
    POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM)

Guess I better get her to the dealer.
