    Grill Change Question

Opened my hood and kinda looked around on how to remove the grill (Chorme vertical SXT Stock grill) how hard is it to get out?

I'm going the cheap way out right now and spray painting it black cause I love the blacked out grill look versus the chrome... So I need to get it out to paint it.... When money comes in I'll probably get the real thing.....

    Thanks for your help!

Go to www.dodgemagnumgrill.com and watch the install video. I followed these instructions without any problems (other than a few scraped knuckles). Apparently it is not too hard to remove the whole front facia and get to the grill that way but I didn't have the guts for that.

Pretty easy to take off. I did it about 2 weeks ago. Just remember if you remove it, there are 3 plastic fasteners/whatchamacallits under each tire well that need to be totally replaced when removed. When I replaced my grill they sent me 6 new ones, all the others are reusable. The ones you have to replace should be easy to find at any auto parts store or Home Depot. I bought a Street Scenes grille and they have downloadable instructions if you want to print it out at http://www.streetsceneeq.com/install_result.asp

???I didn't have to replace any fastner with new ones. Everything that came off went back on. And I've taken off my fascia about 4 times.

If I remember correctly there were 3 on the bottom of the tire well that are real similar to the ones that are on the top of the fascia (under the hood). The 3 that run vertical under the tire well had to be pulled out and kind of get stripped out during the process. I guess they could be reused. My didn't stand a chance of being re-used though.

Maybe others use a different method so you can reuse them....

I installed my E&G grille without dropping the entire fascia. Just pull out the black plastic pieces and remove the pop-outs along the top. You can then pull the top apart just enough to get in there and pull the grille.
The E&G instructions show you that method. Google their site and see if the instructions for the stainless grille are available for download. If not, it's not a big deal to do.
