Does anyone remember where you can request your first free software update for the GPS Navigation system on the 05 Magnum
You should have a certificate in the cd case the dvd came in. Although a new version is not going to come out until spring/summer next year.

"If a man is called to be a streetsweeper, he should sweep streets as Michelangelo painted or Shakespeare wrote poetry. He should sweep streets so well that all the hosts of heaven and earth will pause to say, here lived a great streetsweeper who did his job well."
-Martin Luther King, Jr.
Thanks, I'll check the CD box when I go home tonight.
Anxiously awaiting this release hoping the routing is somewhat improved. If I trusted my current version I'd still be doin' u-turns on I-81 trying to find my way to Hammerfest (long story...)! Mine didn't come with a free upgrade so it looks like I'm payin' retail...Originally Posted by MagnumFreak

If anyone's looking for AC version I have a verified and tested source for cheap, PM me. Looking foward to the AD version and maybe we can get a group buy going when it arrives.
A group buy would be good...Originally Posted by Fred

Local dealers wanted $229 or so when I inquired before. I think we can buy direct from Alpine for $150.

I think the certificate was only in the early production LXes that had the AB version. I bought my car in June of '04 and I had the upgrade. You had to use the certificate within a year of purchase, so when I turned it in, I got AC.
Hammer same here, the dealer "installed' my dvd disk for me :/

My rt was shipped with the AC dvd sealed in the glovebox and no certificate in it.
I was thinking of getting the NAV unit installed... Dealer wants $1700 installed.
It sounds pricey to me, but they add it into the computer system as OEM equipment and is coverd under any warranty.
Do you guys think it's worth it?

Well it depends.
For a GPS units a bit weak but typically does a good job getting from A to B.
I like it for the display while playing Music on Sat and MP3 CD's
I have used it a lot that last month going to hamerfestIt did a real good job getting me to and around Nashville.
If you travel a lot or get confused easy then I would say yea get it. If you almost never take trips and you know your way around your area then it may not be worth it for you.
