    ESP mod vs. Fuse 17 .... ?

what is the difference between pulling #17 and doing the ESP disable mod?

RTjunkie's version of the ESP Mod writeup.

does 17 control this system and more?

reason i ask, i want to add a remote switch for "fun time". i want to minimize the amount of switches, so which one is best?

Pulling 17 will disable your ABS system. And it really lights up your dash too. You would be miles ahead to complete the ESP disable mod and keep your ABS functioning.

And if you have an 06' the fuse 17 won't work anyway.

Not that I remember. I have yet to get a CEL except with the $.25 fan mod. If you do and you have the super chips tuner, you can clear them. If you through any codes, pull fuse for a couple minutes and then will reset.

Pulling fuse 17 on an '05 works great. There are no codes after you put the fuse back in again.

I get hidden codes every time I run the ESP delete mod also. They don't show up as a CEL, but the SC does find it in the DTC's.....

they are not "hidden". your scanner may not pick them up. pulling fuse 11 only erases DTCs in the PCM.

Interesting. I guess a battery disconnect then? It doesn't really matter that much. It's not like anything went wrong and I'm taking it to the dealership for something. I'm outside of my B to B warranty anyway.
