    eBay buyer beware!

Many of you have probably seen the carbon fiber pillar post trim kits that are being sold on eBay right now...Warning to all of you NOT to buy them.

The guy's auctions look like this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWN%3AIT

and the item looks very good in the photos, but when you get the item it's a totally different story. The trim kit is NOT the metal with 3m backing I was expecting, but merely a sticker printed from a laserjet color printer. Also, the sticker itself is even BLURRY! I would never consider for a second attaching this to my car, it simply looks horrible.

I contacted the comapany and was quickly dismissed (and hung up on) with a simple speech about a no return policy.

So I'm out $40...don't want any of you to end up on the same boat. I would post pictures to show you guys, but I don't have a digital camera. I will bring the sticker set to the dodge meet on the 15th so you can see for yourself and decide if it's worth $40/pair.

I'd like to see YOUR "seller's evaluation" on that one. What a rip off!!
There's a lot of scam stuff going on lately on Ebay and they're not doing much about it. Give the jerk a miserable rating and you'll help a lot of other potential victims avoid the same mistake.

Last month I got a "second chance offer" on a watch I was bidding on. I was the high bidder but it didn't make reserve. I got contact by TWO different supposed sellers who wanted me to pay them for the watch!! Neither of them were registered Ebay sellers and all the Ebay did was take a report! No effort to go after them at all......screw Ebay!

    That sucks! Sorry man.

That said, unless the seller changed the ad, the current one from the above link clearly states that is is 'simulated' a 'carbon fiber print' and a 'decal'.

Not to defend the guy or anything, but he does state many times over in the auction
that what he is selling is a "graphic decal" or "graphic print" that "simulates carbon
fiber look". No where in the auction does it say what he is selling is an actual carbon
fiber kit. Its very clear that its a decal kit.

Did you read the auction text before you bid? It took all of three seconds to see that he
was selling just a decal. Did you ask the seller any questions before you bid? Thats
one thing I have learned over the years. If you were not clear as to what was
being sold, and you did not actually read the auction, you should have asked the
question, and saved yourself 40 bucks.

You can't always blame the sellers when the buyer does not know what they are
buying, and then complain when the item is not what they thought it would be, but
is indeed exactly what was stated is being sold.

I feel for you, but its really clear in the text what he is selling is a decal kit.

The eBay feedback system is somewhat flawed because no one wants to leave a negative because they are afraid they will get one back.
A lot of sellers will not leave feedback until after they have gotten thiers first to make sure of that. I know I have made that my policy.

Red, you were expecting stickers and you got stickers...that's why you were happy. The vehicle in your signature has the 6 piece chrome pillar posts from eBay. I purchased these same chrome posts a while back and was very happy with them, but they began getting rock chips and dents, so I had to remove them.

I figured this carbon fiber set was the same set of chrome pillar posts (metal with 3m backing) with a carbon fiber print on them. That was not the case :(

I realize his auction says it's decals, and I guess he's in the right in this situation....but the images he posted are extremely misleading and it is my feeling that regardless of the situation, the company should always offer a refund if the customer is not happy with the product. I even offered to ship it back to him at my own expense!

    I second that.
I bought some billet grills from this Autogallery. First they sent the wrong grills. The shipping charge was $32 for a 7lb box, I returned them at a cost of $4.38 UPS. They shipped out the correct ones with no instructions & didn't credit me back with the shipping costs as promised.
So today I told them no refund means a very nasty feedback, 2 hours later they emailed me a confirm of the refund & sent me instructions.

LGT Automotive messed up my dask kit order really badly. It took 3 months to get it straightened out.
You really have to be sure you are dealing with a good quality vendor.

I was planning on ordering K&N filter part # 33-2295 off of an Ebay auction. They look legit. Anyone have any experience with an Ebay purchase for this filter?

I was just the winning bidder on what was advertised as a set of 4 Chrysler 300C 18" rims with no corrosion, curb rash, or abrasions for $160- (although only one rim was pictured). My spidey-senses are tingling on this one so I'm crossing my fingers hoping that it's legit.

2009 BB 300C SRT8 - Diablosport Predator, LMI Hammer-design intake, lower rad-shroud mod, 180* t-stat, BT catch can (unplugged for winter), Mopar hitch, dashboard hula girl, Blizzak tires on 18" Borbet type TS rims for winter.
...And yeah, I beat that yellow 'vette by a tenth - LOL!

I have the filter and love it (didn't buy off of ebay though).
On a side note, I really didn't intend on this to become an eBay bashing thread. Overall, the site is EXTREMELY useful, and most of the time, you get exactly what you wanted and everyone's happy. I have over 170 references from buying and selling here and there and I couldn't be happier with it.

It's a shame a few have to ruin it for the bunch :( but isn't everything like that..........oh well.
