    Around here it's salt and cinders... get really black and mucky lookin'. Forecast is for 3-6 in. by this time tomorrow. Hope it comes true. I'm ready for snow and what to "sperimet" with my RWD "C" to learn her attitudes, etc.

    NASTY! Im sure glad Oregon doesnt use salt.. they only use sand, and de-icer.

    Around here they use pebbles and salt. I don't think they know what SAND is. In Fayettville, AR they spray salt water on the roads the night before a storm. It seems to help.

    just some coppertone stains on the seats!

    Alternatively for the Hammer "de-icer" may be that thang which makes ice cubes fall outta da fridgerator.

    The only de-icer I know of is Calcium Chloride (CaCl2). It is not technically a salt, although some people refer to it as one or it is sometimes mixed with salt. It will corrode steel by itself however.
    Ask me about my Lemon Dodge Charger. Last time in the shop was approx 41 days and it is still not fixed!
