    Concept Magnum by Metalcrafters

Posted in another thread a few days ago, was the company that developed the Concept Magnum, along with many other cars. (Props to srt dryve for the info)

It's a shop in Fountain Valley, CA & they do so much concept work it's absolutly insane. I wouldn't know what it would take but if someone did the research maybe this place would even be interested in duplicating some of the original concept's parts..? I know everyone loves the headlights & hood especially. Anyhow, the shop is called Metal Crafters & their site is here: http://www.metalcrafters.com
So I started emailing them, and emailing them, and emailing them. Sometimes I would send 3 or 4 emails in a row, so they would pile up in their inbox, to get noticed. Nothing came back, which is the case in many of these attempts with companies like this....LOL...Well today of all days(Thanksgiving), I get a reply back:

Now in my emails to them, I expressed the great interest in the hood and the headlights from us, that are on the Concept Magnum. So they know the interest in them for sure. Now I know it has been stated that apparently they could not reproduce anything off of the car due to DCX's rules and such. BUT, at least now I have somewhat a glimmer of hope that we can at least get some answers for sure about what the deal is with the lights and hood. So I await her reply back to me tomorrow. It was worth a try, and cost me nothing but a few minutes a day!

Naw, I'm just happy I got my hood underway. There is some pride in being first but at the end of the day I'm happy if it becomes another component for the LX community to mod with.

I'll make my hood avail to others to take copies or measurements from; the only thing is they have to come here -- I don't want to risk damage by shipping a large object like that and besides, I sorta need it to drive the car around.....

Probably a legal issue, what with DCX holding the "rights" to the features on the concept cars...but it's worth a shot! Maybe they could "leak" some of the design specs on paper to somebody's bodyshop.....

I would advise against bombarding them with emails, you just barely got someone to respond. Why not wait and see what lowriderman3 can accomplish before you raise their ire...

That would be my thinking. P them off and they'll just throw up a wall. Nothing wrong with a serious suggeston that you would buy, if they would produce.

per their website, they have made aftermarket parts for the viper and the pt cruiser. So who knows--anything is possible.

I sent them an email last week on another matter, but no response so far...

Don't be disappointed if they don't respond. I'm sure they make a hell of alot more money from DCX doing concept vehicles then the LX community here could offer them. Besides I'm sure they have absolutely no rights to anything they did for the Magnum concept.

At the very least maybe they can do a similar hood in Aluminum if there's enough interest, sorta like the Magnumforce deal.
