Component Spkrs; crossover; stock amp for '05 Mag 6spkr w/nav

I have an '05 Mag with the 6 spkr NAV setup. A couple things:

There has been some discrepancy in other posts as to the location of the factory amp. Definitively, on the '05 RT, where is it located?

If I purchase a component setup to replace the stock door/dash BA's, what is the best method to use the crossover that comes with the package (keep in mind that we know the amp already crosses over the frequency for those speakers...threads have placed this ~<120k)? (e.g. Do I run the 3.5" spkr inputs into the crossover and then output the tweeters to the new speakers and leave the 6.5"s alone?).

Basically, the default factory crossover does not compensate enough for using straight tweeters. So we should (logical sense) use the crossover that comes with the package.

under the headlamp switch in the dash

uhhhhh.... I guess use the crossover for the tweeter only and hook up the 6.5 straight to the factory amp

The crossover for the components would require a straight, unfiltered signal from the headunit to work. It is impossible to get this signal, the head unit sends the signal to the amp digitally. If you connect a crossover to the output side of the amp, the signal is already crossed, this will create a phasing issue. Bottom line is it would require a headunit change and factory amp bypass to work properly

    Thanks for the info.

    I was afraid of this.

Oh well...now I have an excuse to do some shopping on ebay for 3 sets of spkrs.
