    Question Carbon Fiber Question

Bought some CF trim for the door pillars off E-bay. Got 'em on OK, but every time it rains, they turn a chalky white color. Weather dries out, back to the original color & texture. Any suggestions on how to make 'em behave?

Okay, I may have figured this out. The trim looks like somebody just die-cut some CF cloth and them stuck an adhesive on the back. The cloth is not sealed, far as I can tell.

I got some of that for the spoiler, soon as I can take it off & fit the film. I just don't wanna hafta try to strip the CF off the pillars and tediouosly clean the remaining gunk off to put the film on. Guess ya gets whatcha pay for in the electronic marketplace...

Get it from where I got mine, I had some on the door pillar and coolant reservoir for 3-4 months before I did the rest, it's heat and UV resistant, and it never faded, shrunk, scratched, even after dozens of car washes, heat from the engine, nothing damages it, it's real tough film, just get this one and do it over.

You could seal it but it won't make a difference. I'm guessin' there's some moisture underneath the CF sheet and what you're seeing is condensation.

Maybe if you peeled it off, dried everything out, reapplied it with some special glue and resealed it or something it would take care of it.

Maybe if you sealed it when it was dry it would be ok. ::Shrug:: thats about all I've got to contribute
