Smile Broke tire loose with ESP on

I was going to work the other day and came to a red light, when turned green i punched it and tires got loose (not much but still), and traction control was on. That tell all about the power these cars have.

    Or crappy E.S.P. system.
I have owned a number of Mercedes Benz, w/ E.S.P. on there is no way can you break the rear tires loose wet or dry.

I always get really nice chirps with ESP on.

Saves the tires and also getting tickets for exhibition of speed!

I have noticed when you turn ESP off right on start up and get that final chime, shift points seem stronger, tranny braking seems stronger, and tires light WAAY easier!

I can "toe tap" it in first, ESP on or off, and it will chirp every time until it upshifts to 2nd. Lotsa fun lol

Damn. ESP on or off, it seems like I can barely chirp my tires at all...

I think until the back end gets a little out of shape you can get some wheel spin. Once the car feels any sideways motion the nanny takes over.

Oh yeah, good luck if you try a brake stand with ESP. Falls flat on its face.

i can roast my tires for 2 seconds before the skid mark light comes on and esp takes over. esp doesn't prevent tire spin. it just takes over a second or two after wheel spin is detected.

if you can't spin your tires with esp on, you have more traction than horsepower.

I have to agree on that, Lil SXT here and the old roads here are shiny slick. I can get a lil squeal on take off and then when I hit those wide white stop markers on the road, it cuts loose til ESP takes over. Hmmmm maybe play with ESP off when safe to do so to see what happens.

On the SRT, I find if I ease in to it off a stop, and then hammer it, the ESP doesn't know it's slipping right away and lets me spin them. Hammer it off a stop and it regulates it.

With the stock conti's I could roast 'em at will. With my aftermarket wheels and tires it gets alot more traction. 60 degree dry weather I can only get it to squeal for a few seconds before it hooks up and goes. That's with esp off.
