After finding out that my awd RT had gone back to BG (n/a for scheduling), I spoke w/ the owner of the dealership where I had ordered. He said that there was a large conference call earlier in the week, and that ALL RT's are now on hold, first the rwd's and now the awd's. He also said again that he heard that it's a hemi issue. Any help guys?

The above question was posed earlier today to the guys at Brampton Assembly (no responses yet). Has anyone elase been told this by their dealer???
When word comes back FROM Brampton I will post a follow-up......
Mine went to BG within a day of ordering it, but then has been in BG ever since.
Of course, I only ordered mine 3.5 weeks ago. :D
Interesting - mine backed out to BG FROM BX about two weeks ago as well. I pressed my sales mgr pretty hard but he couldn't or wouldn't give any explanation for the status change. He DID tell me that all LX builds are scheduled out through Nov, so the SOONEST I can expect mine to be built is after 12/1. And in a rare correlation, I got the same story almost verbatim FROM DCX customer service the next day...![]()
Bummer...guess I need to try to put it out of my mind for the next month.
The one I had on ORDER (now canceled) also went back to BG FROM BX about 4 weeks ago.
It was this final straw that made me search for a car that fit my needs. An RT in my driveway beats BG anyday!
08/05/04 Ordered
08/06,13,20/04 BX
09/17,29/04 NOT yet BX ??
I Give up!

What? All RT's on hold? I'm tired of waiting all ready. I've tried calling my dealership this morning but all managers are ina meeting and my sales person doesn't get in til later this afternoon and he nevers returns my calls anyways. I ordered my RT 4 weeks ago and I never got a call back FROM my sales person on the status, but I guess I know now. Might as well wait for the SRT-8 maybe. I probably would if I knew a price.
A lot of us in this forum feel your frustration. I remember how steamed I was during a seven-week wait for my RT (it was "promised" to be in my hands within two weeks). I got conflicting answers (or no information at all) FROM DCX customer service, and I got an endless stream of misinformation FROM a clueless sales manager. :x Fortunately, my wait ended on June 30th, and I love the car. 8)
But you don't want to hear that, so I'll offer a suggestion.
There are RTs out there on dealers' lots, dealers that (for whatever reason) aren't moving the cars, that aren't sticking customers with surcharges, and that'd dearly love to get their RTs off their floor plan.
Thump on your salesperson to earn their commission, and have them search the dealer network for one of those languishing RTs. If they won't do that (or if they give up too soon), find a dealer who'll do it.
No guarantees, of course. But that's how I ended up with a seven-week wait instead of a twelve-week wait.

Good advice - unless (like me) you're waiting for an AWD RT - you wont find them anywhere just yet... :(Originally Posted by KintlaLake
Just to offer up a little hope for all of you, I bought my RT off of a lot just 2 weeks ago with no ordering or even planning. I walked in, test drove it, liked what I saw and bought it all in one day. The dealer was able to install all of the options I wanted on a base model RT on the spot. I was honestly not aware that these things were in such high demand as they had 3 or 4 more RT's on lot at the time.
Keep looking, they ARE out there.....
Oh the joy of a wagon doing 0-60 in 6.3
Thanks for the scare!I don't know what the hold up is, I just talked with DC and they said my car is still in BX status. They could not give any reason for the delay, just "these cars are running really slow, customers are waiting 4 to 5 months for them."
I guess I'll hang in there a bit longer.
Just talked to my dealership. The manager says he hasn't heard of any delay, but he would CHECK more INTO it just in case. He just told me that the manufactor can't build them fast enough, so that's why it's taken so long on people's orders.
FYI, I just got off my semi-weekly DCX cutomer support phone call. As I expected, I'm still in 'BG', but this rep was kind enough to inform me that 'BG' status typically means that build scheduling is being prevented by restrictions on one or more of the options on the order, and that often dealer intervention is required to "shake it loose".![]()
It never ceases to amaze me how everyone I speak to between DCX and the dealership tells a different story!![]()

Found out FROM Brampton Assembly that there are lots of Hemis to go around. I talked with my dealer earlier this morning and my ORDER is still in BX (at least it hasn't gone backwards in status!).
and the wait continues........![]()
My RT has been in BX for a solid 14 days. Today the person I got at DC seemed extra knowledgeable. Right when he was going to say my car wasn't assigned a build date, I interrupted him to say" is it still in BX?" after that he knew he didnt need to sugar coat anything and he took the time to double CHECK my options and try to find a cause for the delay. He asked if my car was blue...implying a hold up with that color, but when I said black he said that should be fine then....he seemed to be going down a list of hold-ups and mumbling then as he compared them to my order. Alas, he found NO PROBLEMS! he also said 2 full weeks seemed odd for a car to sit in BX and that I should see the dealer about allocation. I did and my sales dude said their ordering guy has the allocation and doesn't know what the delay is...but will try to shake it loose on monday....T-3 weeks to my wedding and I am now looking for a plan B to our honeymoon hemi roadtrip....and FYI anyone looking for an AWD SXT- Walser Dodge in Bloomington, MN has 3 of them. I didn't even need to see the window sticker or badges, the wheels and the height makes them stick out compared to the other Magnums.
my dealer has two on the lot

They'll no doubt go for less than MSRP. A plane ticket to Chicago FROM almost anywhere is only a couple hundred dollars...
