    1st Modification is Complete...

I was really tired of the gas cap hanging on the side of my car when filling up (why DC would tether the cap and not provide a hanger is beyond me). To take care of the problem I bought the 3M self adhesive hooks and placed one on the inside of the fuel door (pics attached).

    I know it's a small modification - but it still counts........right?

    Very nice....
...but it's going to get in the way when you try to put in the Fuel Door Flat Screen by Panasonic.

I did the same exact mod 2 months ago. So far, it has worked great.

Not bad. I went the magnet route, which worked well for a while, then the super glue disolved FROM the fumes. Will try again soon.

I just removed the tether and set my gas cap on the pump while I fuel up. Haven't forgotten a cap in 27 years of driving so far, don't think I'll start now.

reminds me of a friend I had in high school. He had an 85 Audi GT that did not have a little safety valve in the filler neck. One night, we had scattered FROM a friend's house on various "runs" (food, drinks, etc). I saw him heading back and as he made a fast turn on to a street, gas just shot out the side of the car.

He stopped for gas, left the cap there and the door was still open.

I was used to HAVING the tether clip on my truck and really missed it at first. Now I just lay it over the gas nozzle while it filling.
