and is there any word of colors other than red and gray?
Each year Dodge offers fewer and fewer colors.
Magnums should be in dealerships within the month. I think April 22nd is a date most are saying right now.
As for colors, CHECK out this page on carsdirect:

Funny I was just on that site and look what they have listed as a 1993 Magnum:

I agree that there really are only about 2 colors and then shades of grey! Think about it the red is about it, and then technically the blue (although it is so dark it might as well be dark grey). Then there are just warious shades FROM white to black! How hard is it to put some color in those guns? How about some orange, yellow, electric blue, etc? Are there really that many people out there clamoring for 5 shades of grey? If I had to pick 7 colors to fit more tastes, I would go with true black, pearl white, bright blue, silver, candy red, dark green, and one impact color that was rotated over the year (yellow, orange, lime, etc.). That is if you had to LIMIT the choices to just 7. Personally that seems a little stingy on the choices, there should be at least 10. Back in 1970, the Plymouth Road Runner had 5 high impact colors alone, and 12 regular colors. It also had 10 interior color chioces, and that was just the more limited Road Runners!
I too am surprised the color offerings are so limited. Where the hell is Platinum, Candy Apple Red, Hunter Green, Black Cherry, Burgundy, and other great car colors? :x

I can understand the picture if they were talking about the Pacifica , as a Dodge Daytona Pacifica was made. However, NEVER was a Dodge Daytona Magnum made. :?Funny I was just on that site and look what they have listed as a 1993 Magnum:

I would have gotten black regardless, but I would have liked to see some interior combinations that were more than two shades of gray. The 300 has the same issue.
As for additional colors, it might have been nice to have a signature color for the RT, kind of like how BMW has colors reserved for their M cars. I probably would have done that with the inferno red and offered a couple more standard colors, possibly FROM the Chrysler 300 (like Deep Lava Red).
Since I've mentioned the 300, where is the Rear Ultrasonic Sensor Parking Assist and HID Headlamps for the Magnum? Backing up and seeing far ahead are two things the Magnum needs more help with because of its size. And why is DC releasing the 300 first when both cars are ready to go? Is Dodge the red-headed stepchild of Chrysler? I'm new to this.

Vitually all of my cars are black (including 4 of my six Magnums), and if it were me I'd get black -- but it is for my wife and she wants the peal Red. She has a 2002 Durango that is a dark silver -- and I thought she was going with that again.
I think I'll wait until the initial furver dies down before I place an order. I hate to be bleeding edge anymore.
Yep, I'm with you on that one. I'm also interested in the towing package and possibly AWD. Something tells me that AWD will add a few grand to the mix, too. I'm not convinced that I need all that rotational mass in the front end.Originally Posted by BK
So, the interior colors are pretty limited, too. It must be the Dark Slate Gray/Light Graystone that is the lightest interior, right? The Build and Price Dodge site has the little interior color plaquards reversed, although it transforms the seating shades properly. Some of the photos I've seen so far seem to have a white headliner, roof pillars, and/or other whiter cargo panels.
What do you mean by "rotational mass in the front end"?
