My Charger R/T is nearing the 300 mile mark! My question is, do I switch to synthetic now or does the engine need to be broken in more. Thanks in advance for any input.

I don't believe there is a need to seat the rings in on these engines, so add the synthetic anytime.
did mine at 1200 miles.

500 miles, enough time to get rid of the crap and let it accumulate in the filter before the oil change.
I started @ 400. Like most things oil-related, it probably doesn't make a hill-o-beans difference as to when (as long as it's not too late!), but I get all warm and fuzzy when I think about it.

My rt burned a little oil in the first couple of thousand miles and then quit, so it did take a few miles to seat the rings.
I use regular oil because I change it every 3k like the dealer recommended. That is too frequent for expensive synthetic oil. My car has a 70k drive train warranty and I want to make sure Dodge has no excuses if I have a problem.
These engines come from Mexico and that makes me a little suspicious.
I put a Made in Mexico GM Goodwrench 350 engine in my 86 SS Monte Carlo and it was replaced twice under warranty. But then, that was GM.
