Well, that's going to leave a mark...

After nearly 12 months of procrastination, I took the 5.7 apart this afternoon. If anyone recalls cylinder #5 threw a mis-fire code and the plugs had impact marks.

Doesn't sound so good does it?

Now to refresh your memory this is that custom built bullet proof forged motor that was purpose built.

So I get the drivers side head off and see a bunch of crap on top of the piston, embedded in it if you will.

Flip the head over, oh that's not how its supposed to look now is it? The intake valve is partially sucked up into the head and the, well what is left of the valve seat is embedded in the cylinder head combustion chamber.

I think I could throw a new set of heads on it and it would probably run fine but I have other plans

I'll snap some pics tomorrow and post them here for all to see

#2 had a blower for a few months but, I don't think it had any thing to do with this motors demise. It was clearly poor workmanship.

I'm working on getting 392 cubic inches of hemi power shoved in there, just waiting for a few things to shake out.

Were the heads done with larger valves? I have seen some head companies that don't use hardened seats when doing so and it can cause VSR, not a very common thing though (the VSR usually happens from people running to lean or too much timing, but the hardened seats pretty much eleminate it from happening even with a bad tune), but most companies use hardened seats.

Yes they were 2.03 or 2.08 intakes.
