    Well, I'm bummed, gotta leak

Yep, found it today near the front passenger side tire. I took a piece of paper and swiped it up and it has a very faint pink color. So, I figure it must be power steering fluid. Crud.

My husband checked the power steering and he said it was low. So, going to the dealership tomorrow morning. I'm bummed. And, I'm worried. Awhile back we had a VW Jetta and had terrible experiences with the VW dealership service, so I'm hoping that Dodge is not like them. Surely not, but that's just how our lucks goes. Crud.

Anyone else experience this power steering leak? There is no telling what could be, I'm so careful with my car.....

Ah well, thanks for listening, I'm just bummed out, I hate for anything to be wrong with my car.

Well, that's what I initially thought, because to me it looks like transmission fluid. It has that pinkish color to it, right? I've had a car with a transmission leak before and this is what it looked like.

Tranny fluid. Tranny o-ring leak is very common problem. Took my dealer about an hour to fix. If you're still under warranty, it will be covered.

It seems like most LX's are doing it...

Also the power steering and transmission use the same type of fluid or at least on older cars so it could be either one.

Someone else want to verify this?

I'm pretty sure our cars use transmission fluid as the power steering fluid. Mine had the o-ring leak and a leaky power steering line at the same time last year. The fluid from both leaks was identical - I seem to remember fnky confirming...

Thanks JuniorTT for the link to the other thread!

There was a big drop of pink fluid this morning. My car is at the service dept. right now.

Got my car back, and it was the O-ring, they replaced it, and under warranty, so all is good. I didn't get to talk to the Service guy, but it says they replaced 2 O-rings at the 13 Pin connection.

Thanks y'all! You helped eased my mind. I know this wasn't a big ole' deal, but we have never had very good luck with car dealership service places. I absolutely hate leaving my car at those places, makes me very nervous.

Glad it all worked out. Same o-rings they replaced on my SXT AWD. Seems like it affected most of our cars.

FYI, the P/S tank is located on the driver's side of the car, so it's doubtful if it's that.
