Unplugging seat heater buttons, cigarette lighter

I have the front bezel off and want to unplug the heat control buttons next to the ashtray. I tried to pull them directly out, is there a catch or release tab on them?
Also does the grey piece pull out of the orange part of the cigarette lighter to disconnect it or is there more - any tabs or release parts on this?
My cutouts were hooked up to my cigarette lighter for power but I have to run a new set of wires as the originals got burned. I will use the same area for a power connection do I need to pull any fuse or disconnect the battery?

    Thanks

Wanna say there is a section that you depress to get them to release. Sorry at work and can't access my other photobucket.

I have had mine out twice, as I recall there is a tab that you need to push to remove the wire harness from the back of the switch.

Are you trying to remove the switch or the wires from the switch?????

for the seat heaters, there a tab you push down on to remove the harness plug from the switches. If you then look at the back of the switches, there are two small tabs on each one you have to depress/release. the whole button assemble then pushes FORWARD out the front of the ashtray panel.

The gray/orange pieces on the cigarette lighter are attached, they do not come apart. If you rotate the assembly you will see there are some notches which line up with access holes in the ashtray if you look at it from the top. Once lined up, you pop a tab on the underside and the lighter will push UP through the ashtray.

I did it just the other day!

Any ideas on the the need of fuse or battery disconnection while I splice the new wire in? It won't be like anything will be hooked up to the other end of the cutout wiring harness.

Be safe and pull the fuse out, it is in the rear fuse box in the trunk.
It's the fuse that is offset, to the left.
