Ummm I just drove 2 Hemi's now I need one

I took a quick trip out to a dealer to check out what the big fuss was about with these hemis. I bought a SE last year and have been pretty satisfied with the power. I never tried the 3.5 or the 5.7 prior to purchasing.

I head to the same dealer that I bought my SE and he greets me with open arms and $$$ in his eyes. He throws me the keys to a Blue 300c and tells me to take it for a spin. I hop in and it's a smokers car... no offense to smokers, but stale smoke in a car is just nasty. Anyways, I crank it up and there is very lil grumble. Hmmph...this ain't so badasssss......whoahhhh....I stomped on the gas and I was instantly on somebodies bumper. I like, I like...I ripped up and down the street with a grin a mile wide. I started thinking of all the things I would do to the engine...

I head back to the dealer and start to look the car over...WTF the passenger fender was kinda misaligned. I look in the wheel well and there were screws used instead of the plastic rivets. They ran a carfax and the came up clean, but I don't need anymore headaches. Headed to another dealer and drove a 2006 Charger RT. I will be getting a hemi and soon.

Whats the typical cost of ownership? Besides $3.50 gas

Cost of ownership - Depends on how bad the mod bug hits!

My 05 RT just turned 20K. I had a tranny fluid leak fixed under warranty, I need new front tires and probably an alignment (contis suck) and I need new front brake rotors (warped).

All of the above are common issues. Other than that just oil changes.

    You won't regret it.

Same thing happened to me...drove an SRT-8 when I had my R/T....I lasted I think a month then I got my SRT-8...all I did was think of the power of driving that car....

And it happens to those SRT-8 owners who ride in my car....it is addicting.

Granted the hemis are not so good on gas around town. You can't accelerate slowly with these cars!!!! When I was making biweekly trips to AL, I was getting 22.4 to 22.8mpg driving the interstate at 80mph most of the way. Then I reprogrammed with the Flashpaq. A couple of weeks ago, I drove my family on a 600 mile trip on mostly interstate highways at speeds of 72 to 78mph most of the time. It got just over 25mpg. I can live with that. I don't have the gas mileage indicator. I was filling up and calculating the mileage. I got the same mpg over 2 fillups.

Got a brand new '05 Maggie RT in June of '05 for $29,000 (like $34,000 out the door). Not the best deal... but I financed all but $1,000 of that and it worked out to $599.31/month for 72 months at 9.4% interest. So there's a ballpark on cost of ownership. It costs more but the grins are worth it if you can afford the upgrade!

Satisfied with the power of a SE? What the heck did you drive before a 3 cylinder yugo? I'm only messin with ya but I've driven an SE and there's no way I could be satisfied by that power, maybe the gas mileage but even thats not much better!

Heh, yeah I drove a used SXT before I drove a hemi and thought "eh, this aint so great".

Then I drove a new R/T with a HEMI and lost my mind!

I've never driven an SRT8. I cant afford to - if I ever drove one I'd have to get one immediately and I just cant afford it!

I drove the SE 3.5 Charger first, with the wife, to me it was boring.
I than drove the R/T Daytona 5.7, and got it side ways around the corner pulling out of the stealership. That was the car I bought that night.
After a few weeks I went back and drove the SRT-8 Charger, it was new and it felt similar to my Daytona. I know if I would have bought it, I would have been in heaven.
I'll wait till the Challenger SRT

    Well since you asked:

    2005 Magnum SE
    2004 Scion XB
    1998 Grand Prix GTP
    1986 Cadillac Seville
    1992 Cadillac Seville STS (4.9)
    1989 Trans Am GTA
    1988 Pontiac Grand Prix
    1987 Mustang GT
    1988 Conquest TSI
    1986 Toyota MR2
    1983 Toyota Celica GT
    1980 Datsun 510

Probably the fastest car I owned was the Grand Prix. Like they always say you think that you are fast when your running by yourself.

Well I will tell you, DO NOT GET IN AN SRT....They suck big time....Here's why I say this...

I had a few expierences with the SRT's, and they all sucked for me....BUT here's how driving one really sucks.

In March 2006 after the Spring Fling, a few of us went to GSM to tinker around there and...my buddy Eddie (you evil evil man) tossed me the keys to his MSRT and said go for a drive..... Ok, so I went for a leisurely cruise and then returned to GSM and gave him his keys back....

Well, eventually I got back into my 2005 SE and went home and thought about the cruise in the MSRT I just had...WOW that MSRT sucks, it really sucks....IT SUCKED ME INTO THE DARK SIDE.....

    June 8, 2006 I had traded in my 2005 SE for a 2006 MSRT8..

SRT8's SUCK....THEY SUCK YOU IN AND YOU CAN'T GET OUT....
