To Tune or not to Tune?

That is the question. So I am receiving some kooks LT headers and HF cats tomorrow and will be installing them in about a week. I have a Big Bully intake, Borla 112 cat back, and a 93 canned tune from the predator on an 08 Magnum. I am wondering if there are some parameters that I will need/ want to adjust or a tune that I can purchase/ have that will complement this new addition to my heavy lady. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Also, What do you all think would be a fair / good price to have the put on for?

Simply start by getting a $15 180* t-stat and then you can make some simple tune changes. Visit HHP, they sell internet tunes (http://estore.websitepros.com/802805/Detail.bok?no=1526), heck almost all the motor part vendors offer email tunes.

You'd certainly benefit the most from dyno tuning, but for what you are proposing to do right now to what you already have, not sure if it's worth it to dyno tune just yet until you add at least a few more bolt on's (ie, 85mm TB, 180-t-stat, UD Pulley). (my game plan anyway)

Once you get into the heavy hitters (ie, heads, cam, TC, diff's, SC, and strokes, etc.) you almost have no choice...you have to dyno tune.

For the header install I don't have experience with that yet, but I've read that adding 5-10% fuel across all the RPM ranges is recommended to compensate for the increase in air flow.

I'm sure the seasoned vets will chime in on this thread.

Price range for install I would image would be like $350-450?

Thanks for the input. I have done some research into the 180 t-stat, but I know virtually nothing about the TB. I remember reading some debate as to the actual gains or usefulness of it, but I could be wrong. The UDP is next on the list as I have only got 20K on the motor I am trying to hold on to the warranty as long as I can, but I'm running out of power mods. LOL
