traded the magnum today - thanks & good luck to everyone

Today was a tough day. I traded the R/T in on a new '04 srt4 to free up some cash to allow my wife to leave her job. Needless to say I am pretty depresed. I wish I would have just held onto my 99 Grand Cherokee in the first place. Better to not have owned a Magnum, then to have owned one and lost it.

Life goes on. From this point forward we will only buy what one income can comfortably afford. On the positive side, I kept the Grand National. If the day comes that I cannot bare an srt4, the GN can be liquidated. Maybe by then D/C will offer a 6-speed 5.7 Magnum R/T.

It's been a pleasure guys & gals. All the best to you.

There's no reason you can't hang out on this forum, lieu. You're still a fan of the LX platform, and you still have an awesome car, so stick around!

Oh, dont rub it in now... the man is down... he had to give up one of his babies to adopt a runty lil redhead...
Poor guy! I just hope that the new owner (whoever they may be) will love it as much as he does..My heart goes out to you!
I used to have a 71 Dodge Truck that was uglier than Rosie O'Donnel drunk and table dancing in a thong. But it was my first real ride that I modded and loved.
I had to sell it because of hard times too. I cried the day that I signed it over... I still miss it..

    Sweet!

'04 SRT-4s are nothing to sneeze at. I wouldn't be depressed at all, except if I jhad to sell it and get nothing. Stock for stock they are faster than any LX save the SRTs.

    Have fun with 'er.

You don't have to burn books to destroy a culture, just get people to stop reading them.

They have a kit now so you can put a Viper 6 speed in a 5.7L or 6.1L Hemi.

Has that kit thing been confirmed yet?

Anyways, my heart goes out to you, but you're still part of our family and I for one hope you frequent the page and get in on some nutty Hammer filled threads with us. I don't say sorry for this. I say congratulations and thank you. For putting your family first and doing the right thing. For still coming out of this with a fine automobile. And for gracing this thread with you presence.

You guys are the best. The SRT-4 is quite a hoot. Great for short little hops. Very solid little car, easy & relatively cheap to modify.

I will remove the wing and replace it with an SXT wing (actially the dealer will do it n/c)

I will also add a resonator or muffler to the exhaust. Too noisy for this old guy.

I suppose I could have done worse.

Chivalry is alive and well and drivin an SRT4 -- you're a good man, and you must have a tremendous wife and family. Don't look back -- looks like you're already having fun in the SRT4.

Hammer, Rosie drunk in a thong, too much, I have the unfortunate ability to visualize what I read.
The SRT 4 aint no slouch, it is not a Magnum, but still hauls ass, I don't know the specs, but seen 'em burning it up pretty good for a front spinner!

To paraphrase the Bard of Avon, "'tis better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all," But my heart goes out to ya. I was a Mopar freak back in the the late 60's when I was a punk that didn't care about s**t and owned some of the nicest rides they ever produced but on Daddy's nickel so I didn't know what the hell I had. (Not that I didn't drive 'em hard and take good care of 'em but some of you "older" types know what I mean.) Well I waited almost 30 years and went through life-changes that should have killed me before I arrived at the intersecting points that allowed me to afford a Magnum RT comfortably and there was actually a Magnum RT on the market. I sat on my ass and my money for 2 years waiting for "SOMETHING" that stood out from the crowd and could also leave most of it in the dust. The first time I saw a Magnum at a car show I told the "ol' ball and chain" she was looking at our next car and she laughed her beautiful "you're a complete idiot dreamer laugh" and we went home. This was followed by months of drooling over the exploits of the folks who post here who already had theirs and suffering along with them when they had problems to report. Then came the magical day when all the planets aligned for one brief moment in my favor (April Fool's day 2005 to be exact, how fittting) when the RT of my dreams was sitting in a lot 8 miles from my house and I was either going to get it or succomb to my worst nightmare, that I had lost all lust for life. The rest is history, the high point of most of my days is GETTING to where I'm going instead of being there and I couldn't imagine giving this beast up for anything at this point. The SRT4 is a fun little son-of-a-gun though and I'm willing to bet when things level out for ya in a couple of years the Magnum RT you'll get will pee all over my tired ol' 5.7. You'll be braggin' about yer 6.1 6 speed in no time. Hugs and kisses to the kids from me, and keep a "sorry, dude" hug from me for yourself.

now I am in an RT for payments that are just a few dollars more than my '8 payment. Still hard even though I am in a nicer car...all i know is that I wanna know more about that 6speed kit...how much????!!!!
