trans light on- no trans

i have a 300c 5.7. i just changed the setting on my superchips to paddle shift gear hold. i was hauling a$$ and hit the rev limiter, then the trans was out. nothing but reving the motor like i was in neutral. i pulled over and shut it off. it was cool when i turned back on, but the trans light is on. anyone have this happen before?

I think limp home for the trans is neutral. I may be wrong, but I think you experienced a "normal" event......

BTW, paddle kick will give you the same holding of gears, but shift up at redline if you are WOT. Might try that.

Kinda hard to "limp home" in neutral , just kidding.


Limp home will only use 1st and 2nd gear, and only get up so high on the RPM's..

Do the key dance (key in the ignition, go to the on posisition, back to accy, back to on, back to acc, then on one last time). Should pop up with a code, post here and if im still at work ill find out what it means.

OK, limp home was a bad choice of words. But I think others have done this, it goes into Neutral, then with a key-on/key-off cycle all is OK. He should be able to check and clear the code with the SC tuner.
