This is awesome. I had the superchips programmer for my dodge truck and loved it more then the “plug” in type chips. I loved the ability to pick from several performance options and to be able to read error codes and reset them without having to go thru dealer hell.

Would it be able to help that early shifting problem when taking off in 1st gear? Or doing a burnout?

it did reprogram the transmission in my truck. At the highest performance setting "only three" it did change shift time and made them a little stronger. It also required to run only 93 octane on the highest setting. I also had the abilitly to set speedO per tire size.

Awesome news if they've truely cracked it... bummer if it's just marketing BS. You can call me a skeptic, and it aint like I don't have my fingers crossed as tight as the rest o' y'all, but based on what we know about our pcms, I'll believe that someone's got a programmer for us when I see one in a shrink-wrapped box with a price tag.

PappaDoc, I don't know as the 93 is harmful, I seem to recall that the manual insisted that there would be no benefit in running fuel higher than 89. And if that is the case, changes made by the programmer (assumably timing, fuel map, etc) would certainly negate that statement.

They hold there value to. I bought mine for almost 300 and sold it on ebay 3 years later for 290 dollars.

It's a race between superchips and diablo sport. Hypertech doesn't want to comment on what they are working on yet, so I'm not sure where they stand here so far.

Superchip is a "player" and had originally indicated an August 1st, date. Sounds like they are in final stages of release.

The impact of a real programmer on the 5.7 Hemi will be awesome. This will be the single most effective mod for your ride in terms of performance.
