    straight pipes?

With my current mods, does anybody know if I will loose performance if I switch my super 44's out for straight pipes or glasspacks? Im going to the track tonight so any info would be greatly appreciated.

it should'nt make a difference really i had 44's and swtiched to straight pipes. I didn't notice or minua or gains with the straight pipes, however i did notice my car is breathing better. Also it depends how far you run the pipes back, that will have a effect on how loud it will be

think about it.. the shorter the louder. think of open headers they are louder because the sound dosnt travel through ten foot of pipe to kinda mellow it out.

I had straight pipes, and I absolutley hated them! Too much noise, and >>drone<< like a muthaf***a! Plus I loss hella power down low for some reason. Go with a cat back or some better muffs!

Check out CheryBombs site. The Vortex muffler has more flow than glasspacks, and nealy the same as strate pipes. And you wont loose power with them.

I got a repeatable (on the dyno) 25 ft lbs more torque when I added the Zoomers catback.

I know two guys who (used to) run straight pipes - sure, sounds good for a short time, but unless you are driving a hangar-queen I don't think the deafness and general annoyance is worth it.

Neither of those guys has straight pipes anymore...

after talking to mike i decided to remove my flow 40s and replace with pipe this morning, man it was a bit loud for me but i am glad i did as the mid to top range def felt more responsive, but i went back cause it was to loud and got some 4 inch round 14 inch body magnaflow mufflers, took it down a few notches and cleaned up the sound too.

glad i did as i notice an improvement over the chamberd 40s, F flowmasters, more like crap masters imo!

I wouldnt do it with catless mids. I had muffler and reso's taken out and then installed HHP's catless mids and it was horrible. I lost power and the sound was crap.
