    Snoop Dogg wants 300C

Analysts note that the Chrysler 300 and Dodge Magnum have struck a chord with consumers, reports the Chicago Tribune. "They're getting broad interest and appealing across the board to all consumers ...," said Art Spinella, general manager of CNW Marketing Research. "The 300 and Magnum are priced right ($22,900 to $32,400 for the 300, $21,800 to $29,300 for the Magnum), and the cars are promoted in ads that feature high performance." Chrysler GROUP President and CEO Dieter Zetsche said that with barely a month of 300 and Magnum sales, it's too early to judge success, though he got a strong hint a few days ago. "I got a call at the office FROM 'Snoopy Dog' (rapper Snoop Dogg), and while he speaks a different language than I do, he said he had to have a 300C," Zetsche said. "I told my son, and he said, 'Dad, you've arrived.'"

Ah-ha! Here's a thought, why don't we let the higher-up's kids get more of a say for these cars? They seem to know more than their parents . . .

Snoop Dogg asks Daimler-Chrysler for a new car

    Associated Press

DETROIT - Snoop Dogg is looking for a new car.

Specifically, he wants Chrysler's new flagship passenger sedan, the 300C. The Los Angeles rapper/actor left his request in a voicemail message for Dieter Zetsche, the CEO of Daimler Chrysler AG, last week at the company's headquarters there, The Detroit News reported in a Sunday story.

"What I gotta' do to get that brand new 300 up outta' you?" Snoop asked. He advised: "Get back in contact with my nephew so he can make it happen, then it's official like a referee with a whistle."

Chrysler officials told the paper they are trying to work something out. They say interest FROM Snoop and chart-topping rapper 50 Cent illustrates the broad appeal of the new rear-wheel-drive.

"We've seen SUVs that have gotten the attention of the hip-hop crowd, but not a passenger car," said Chrysler spokesman Jason Vines.

The 300 has been one of the strongest sellers out of the gate for Chrysler since dealers started taking deliveries in March. With a base price of between $23,000 and $35,000, the car has attracted luxury buyers and produced nationwide waiting lists.

Chrysler has accommodated celebrity requests before, including Jay Leno, who wanted a Dodge Viper, and Cher, who sought PT cruisers.

Snoop, who became a star rapping about sex, gangs and marijuana and has branched out INTO movies and television, is no exception.

"I'm not going to scoff at anybody who likes our products," Vines said.
