RT with lousy gas mileage after SC install

So I got the SC tuner, and installed it about 2 months ago... And I love the performance I get out of it.

Frankly, I never really worried about milleage, but it was cool seeing 25+ on long trips with cruise on.

Since the SC, Im never seeing above 14, with the SAME driving. So yesterday, I set it back to 91 tune + stock tranny. And on a round trip of 100 milles, it was in the mid 20s again.

But the shifting sucked.. ok not sucked, but not the SC way

Whats up? Whats the best "non-racing" but like a nice crisp shift, but giving up 10-12 MPG is harsh.

    Must be the driver.................................LOL

My SC gives me better performance AND better gas mileage.

I get 1-3 MPG more with the SC.............I do use 93 octane and run 91 settings.

I can never understand how you guys get mileage like that. I have NEVER gotten above 19mpg, on the street or highway. I drive really aggressive, and have the tickets to prove it, but even when i tried to maximize mileage it was never good. The most mileage i have ever gotten out of a tank is 335. I used to live about 7 miles from work and would get about 200 mi/tank. Now i'm 3 mi away, i get 150-160. I know now its cause i drive with a freezing cold engine, but mid 20's? how slow do you guys drive./

Check the tire size setting when you install the Fpack. I think if it's wrong, so will your gas mileage.

Is the FP updated to current firmware & database? The tire issue is pretty much a non-issue now (assuming stock wheel size) if you are up to date.

I've got an AWD RT and when using the 91 octane tune and the "performance" tranny setting, I'm good for 23-24 mpg on the interstate running 70 - as long as I'm leaving it in "D" and using cruise control...

Using autostick manual & driving in spirited fashion can pull that waaay down.

Ill move it from stock tranny to sport and leave it in 91, and see how she holds up. Tire size was done already, but my tires/wheels only changed the OD by 1/2 or so.

Is your MDS kicking in? I was getting around 17mph after an update and noticed the MDS wasn't kicking in. Went back to stock and reinstalled 91 tune and it was fine...

Do the Superchips flash, with all the settings you want.

Then start it up drive around, verify it is all running exactly how you want it.

THEN, pull fuse 11,14 and turn the key, or pull the battery cable for a few minutes to reset everything in the ECM and TCM.

    That should help a LOT.

Yeah, I don't have a superchips on my R/T yet, but that really sounds like the MDS not activating.

As I recall, it will kick in at anywhere from 15 to 82 mph provided the throttle is being held steady.

Well I took a trip from North Puget Sound down to Woodburn Oregon, about a 600 mile roundtrip. I went down with 5 other forum members. We hotrodded around with each other all the way down and back, and averaged 24.5 mpg for the whole trip.

Combined mpg on a daily basis including commuting back and forth to work was only 17-18, but that is mostly city driving.
