Question about 5.7 Hemi MDS

I'm looking to get out of my SXT Charger and into a used RT. I want to know if the MDS is an option or if it's in all the Hemi's, and how I can tell if the vehicle I'm considering has the MDS option. I would like one with the MDS.

All 5.7 cars have it. 6.1's don't. 5.7's without MDS were on trucks.

all 5.7 now have mds all lxs have mds in 5.7l. in trucks mds started in 06

Hahahha. Sssshhhhh! I'm just toying with the idea right now. The 3.5 definitely is not enough for me. I originally wanted the R/T, but I desperately needed to get out of the 2003 Lincoln LS I was driving at the time and this SXT was my first opportunity. I'm looking at either black or white. And yes, I'm keeping everything. Actually someone smoked my drivers side headlight area and bumper, so I'm thinking I'll need to repair that before I make a trade.

Difference between MDS Hemi's and non MDS Hemis, You must use a good catback or the stock exhaust if you don't want drone. When my car was new I put on a couple of Flowmaster 40's, it sounded awful. My 05 Ram sounds great, especially running directly off the headers! MDS 4 cl mode can create annoying drone. It definately gets better mileage and the good news is the more mods and more power, the more that MDS will stay in 4cl mode.

Yeah, I read a post about the inbalance of some aftermarket exhausts that were not specifically engineered to cancel out the different harmonic frequencies created when mds 4cyl mode kicks in. Forums are awesome!!
