    Question Possible Future Magnum Owner

Hello all! I'm new to the forum, so bare with me if this is not in the proper location.

I'm shopping around for a Magnum to replace a car I just recently purchased (that will be traded in). I recently went to the "dark" side and bought a Acura TL in march, but even though it's a very nice car I just don't feel normal in it. I miss my good ol' american car feel. I went from a Grand Prix to the TL, so I also miss the roomy feel I had in the Prix. I am done with buying GM cars for the time being as I am sick of the cheap interior, etc. This is why I am looking at the Magnum, and have test drove a couple and like it.

My question to you is this.. I found on the net a pretty decent deal on one and wanted to find out if it appears to be a good deal to those who have one.

When I priced the same vehicle locally (I am in Delaware, OH BTW) for the same new but with a sunroof I was looking at mid 30's.

My next question is this... Does it seem like a good idea for me to do this in the first place? The 04' TL is a very nice car, and has great reviews as well as holds it's value quite well.

    Thoughts?

    Thanks..

We're kinda biased to Magnums on here!! :-D Just Kidding!! The TL is a sweet ride!! I can definitely understand wanting a Magnum, I've had mine for over a year, and I still smile everytime i think about my car!!

The price doesn't seem bad, I priced the same thing just now on dodge.com, and it came to $33,600. I'd probably jump on it, but that's just me.

Did you check out the guys name to call, GEORGE CROOKS!!

If you don't mind a 1 hour drive north of Delaware there is Reedman Toll in Langhorne PA.

They have tons of cars and are usually the lowest price around.

Depending on the radio setup, the list on that car should be in the 35K to 37K range as it is an AWD. The $28,597 is a very good price. The listing shows 21 miles.

Ultimately, it's up to you. I paid about that, but had more options - however, I got mine last year when it was still "new".

With the 2006s out, you can counter that you're buying a year-old car, regardless of how many miles it has on it or the actual build date. It's something to consider if you're going to be financing this car. You're already going to be upside down.

I'd shoot him a lowball offer of maybe 26.5k and offer objections like "with the car sitting on the lot that long...hard driving test drivers...the 21 miles could be made of 84 tire-roasting 1/4 mile runs...".
"Walkin' the thin white line on this smiling road. 40 days, I've been all alone. Draggin' my heart all across this world. I got 100 miles to go before I get back to see my girl. Aint got nothing, I got nothing to lose. I keep walking away these blues. The cup is broken, but it's half full. I got 100 miles to go before I get back to see my girl."

    "used" cars

I bought my R/T pretty decently loaded out with 45 miles on it (3 test drives) for $28,900. That AWD looks like a good value for the price.

It must fall under the same category as mine. It was 'used' with no miles on it because it was damaged at the factory during assembly and it was sent off to auction and picked up by the dealership.

Last week after a fresh coat of Medallion class, I noticed the flaw for the first time. Around my sunroof there's a bit of a sag on the drivers' side, about 1" by 2". No biggie. For a $6k savings, I'm willing to look past it.

If it weren't for finding this 'used' car, I wouldn't be in a maggie right now, so it was the right choice for me.

Well I got more info on the deal..

It appears this one is fairly bare when it comes to options. The only "options" installed are the 6 disc CD changer and the fact it's an AWD. Don't know if it's a good deal or not anymore.

Well I am glad to see you on a quest for some American style automotive soul! You wont be sorry! The LX's are big chesty machines that are as subtle as Triple H in a business suit.
The price is fair, but it never hurts to see if you can make it for fair for you! Happy Hunting and good luck!
