    Oil leak 2 weeks in

I've never even considered buying a Chrysler product because I've heard so many stories FROM people through the years with catastrophic transmission or engine problems, ususally during the year after the warranty expires.

Well, the 300C was awfully seductive. And after all, with Benz tranny and proven Hemi, well, all those old wives tales about Chrysler quality surely are a thing of th past.

Picked up my Silver 300C July 23. Within 2 weeks, I noticed an oil leak. Surely its the wife's car! No, it was mine. could have been FROM day one for all i know. Took it in. Said it was a spark plug tube with a leaky seal. Fixed it. Leaked overnite. took it back. Replaced valve cover and gasket as well as prior REPAIR procedure. Got it back yesterday, leaking today.

They are communicating with chrysler because they say they havent seen this before. maybe i just have bad chrysler karma and this is the first time ever this has happened. They tell me they get 5 tries to fix before lemon law kicks in. This is exactly why i leased and not buy. I figured the germans might have made an american car worth buying, but i guess they still have a way to go. Hey at least chrysler has a v8 and rear wheel drive again. About damn time.

and yes, that is hostility you sense

Sorry to hear about your problem.

Frankly, I thought it was 3 tries for the lemon law. Make them give you another car and let them work out the bugs on the one you have if you do not get any satisfaction.

Good luck. Let us know how it turns out.

Maybe you got a Monday-morning special? Sorry about your initial bad luck. Hope you ride out the oil-leak problem and end up with a reliable, sweet ride.

I have had mine in the shop twice now. One for the pass. side air bag sensor and one for the rear tailgate seal. We had Francis come through and dump alot of rain last week and water was in my spare tire well.

This is the second new car I have owned and I have had alot of used. Never met a car that did not need something replaced weather it was new or used.

I hope you don't give up on a good car because of a single problem. I have had hassles I see as early production run stuff, an electrical short, squeaky A-arm etc. My irritation is much like yours, the hassle is taking the car back over and over to address the same problems. I do think that HAVING such a completely new design does make it harder on the techs.
The complete lack of evidence is the surest sign that the conspiracy is working.

The way I see it, he will take care it his way. What we have to say about it means less than a fart in a hurricane. I just try to not directly piss him off. He is not vengeful, but he has a loooong memory and eventually gets his.

    And the dead shall walk
