    noticed ticking when first starting up.

    When i got off work yeserday I cranked the Magnum and I noticed a ticking sound from the motr for about 5 seconds then it went away.It sounded like it needed oil.But I checked it and its fine.I have heard this noise before.Any concerns?With this being a newer car and and suck I don't think thats the noise i should hear.I have heard about the "Hemi tick".I hope that isn't what that is cause to be honest,itsa kinda imbarrasing having it when cranking up the car.

    Someone else talked about this... somewhere else:

    Is there a FRAM oil filter on there?
    I have had and heard bad experiances with oil flow on startup from fram filters.

    Agree with lafrad - if it quiets down immediately after startup, this is probably an oil filter check valve issue. The 5.7 Hemi tick is a constant...

    It's really the oil filter. It already happened with my friends' oil filter. He checked on his Mazda Miata parts like its engine and everything was fine but not the oil filter. It had some damage on it that must have caused the ticking sound.
