    Non availability

I must have a 300C with AWD and U-connect. But I cannot find out anything about when they will be available. Today I got hold of a customer service rep for DC and was crushed by his news. U-connect not avaialble till late fall ie. November. And the AWD? "Gosh we don't even have it shown in our database!"
So here we go again. The first really new sedan in North America for people who don't want an SUV or van and they cannot deliver. Heavy TV and magazine adverising going on creaitng a demand that outstrips supply. Can I really wait another year for my dream car? This is "bait and switch" advertising. Think I'll switch to a Benz. Expensive? Yes. Available? Yes.
This is just like trying to book a flight on points. You have the points you just cannot use them.

Many of us share you frustation. If UConnect really is not available now (I've seen it on cars at the dealer already), then that really sucks. I may just cancel if I get pushed much past August and just wait a year+ for an SRT-8. The reason I say year+ is because you know this same crap will happen with that model (order and wait forever).

Here we go again. After reading about the U-Connect yesterday on the board, I called customer service today and the girl I talked to looked in two places and she had no information about there being any problem with obtaining U-Connect. It was not on hold. I'm not doubting the statement that someone else was told differently. It is just another example of how the information obtained FROM DCX customer service is not to be trusted. I believe that when they put you on hold and come back a few minutes later with info they must have gone to a room where they keep the ouija board or that magic 8-ball.

Today FROM the Brampton assembly plant site I got a reply to my query about AWD availablity. I am told that the plant is churning out AWD 300C's for Europeans and Americans but not Canadians. Why? If Canadians are good enough to build a company-saving car surely they should be allowed to buy one as well. AWD is not a useless fluffy option for a country covered with ice and snow 8 months of the year. It is a practical safety requirement.
Funny that the same thing is true for Ford. St Thomas in Canada assembles the Crown Vic, The last great rear wheel drive body -on -frame car alive. Canadians can build a CV but are forbidden to buy it. Why?
When will domestic car companies finally get it right? Build a car that people want to own and drive and they will buy it. Let some MBA run marketing and you get frustrated angry turned-off buyers.

    More Frustrations to pass on:

I registered online like in January for them to send me information. Got 4 letters in February each saying they would send the brochures as soon as they were available (March). It is now June and have never received one. The Dealers have NONE to give out, only the sales guys have ONE you can look at. Not a big deal, minor pet peeve, since I want one to save.

Everything is a delay with these cars. The books, the cars themselves, the ORDER process. My dealer sold everything the had and went almost 2 weeks without a 300 on the lot. They just got a Base model and a Stripped Touring model in today. They are frustrated as the cars are "trickling in". They've got people who've ordered cars back in March, still without a VIN, so my 4/28 ORDER is gonna take a LONNNNGGGG time. They were telling guy in the showroom who wanted to order, that it would be at least September before he could get his car WITHOUT a sunroof, October with a roof. He was not happy. They are telling me August as I ordered 5 weeks ago. These are all guesses of course.
